The 33-year-old IT account executive made a surprise appearance as one of the suitors looking for love on popular TikTok star Olan Tekkers’ dating series Pop The Balloon.
In a shock twist, Hugo has been revealed as one of the suitors on the hit series, which is rapidly gaining popularity for its unconventional approach to matchmaking.
Unlike typical dating shows, Pop The Balloon sees contestants evaluate each other’s looks, personalities, and compatibility, all with a unique twist: they must decide whether to pop a balloon and eliminate a potential match as they go through a series of questions and interactions.
Some participants pop the balloon based solely on initial impressions, while others wait to have deeper conversations before making a decision.
If in the end neither person manages to pop their balloon, the couple goes on a date.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, presenter Tekkers spoke about the inspiration behind the show.

“I wanted to help dating in 2024, especially since people have a hard time meeting each other,” she said.
‘The idea was to create a space where contestants could connect and have fun while receiving feedback and moving forward.’
Tekkers also teased that viewers can expect more familiar faces from shows like MAFS and Love Island making appearances on the show.
