Mark Owen’s wife Emma has responded furiously to claims that the Los Angeles wildfires have been portrayed as a celebrity crisis as she shared an update.
The Take That star and his family were forced to flee their Los Angeles home after the bushfire spread. through the luxurious enclave of Pacific Palisades on Tuesday.
And on Instagram on Thursday night, Emma posted an update and urged people to recognize that the majority of those affected are not celebrities, but rather normal people who have truly lost everything.
In an impassioned speech, he exclaimed: “I don’t give a damn about my house, I just want Joyce (his neighbor) to be okay.”
‘I have everything I want. I have my children, my husband and my animals. I don’t care about the rest. Take it.
“I just want Joyce and all the other people who stayed to fight for everything they have to be okay.”

Admitting he doesn’t wish to offend, he continued: “I hate that this has been advertised as ‘celebrity houses’ and ‘most expensive houses’ and ‘town tinsel torches.’
‘No. That’s like 5% of California. California’s main base is workers. They are the real belly of Los Angeles and they are the people who have nothing left.
‘They have no insurance, they have nowhere to escape, the rescue shelters are overrun. I don’t want you to think “Oh, it’s Los Angeles, everyone’s rich, everyone’s going to be okay,” no, there are thousands of people who aren’t okay.
Emma added: “I don’t want everyone attacking me or expressing this the wrong way.” I hope I don’t offend anyone but I want you to know that I don’t like the way it has been portrayed.
‘It’s not just about rich and famous celebrities. Who cares? These are real people.’
Explaining that she is overcome with shock, she added: “I can’t think of the words because I’m in shock and I’m worried about spelling them incorrectly, but you know what I mean.”
After evacuating her home on Tuesday, Emma, who shares three children with Mark, explained that her family had been split up as they tried to find a place to house all their animals.
However, he shared the happy news that he is hopeful that everyone will be reunited under the same roof on Friday. She said: ‘I feel guilty too. “We are incredibly lucky and incredibly grateful.”

Emma and her family were evacuated on Tuesday after they woke up to “helicopters, thick black smoke and howling winds.”
On Instagram that same Thursday, Emma recorded a clip updating her followers and letting her friends and family know that she is safe.
In the video, she said, “I’m so tired, I don’t think anyone in Los Angeles is sleeping right now.” I’m back here, we’ve had so many messages from people just checking to see if we’re okay – friends and family at home and there are so many messages.
‘They are so lovely that we simply don’t have the energy or time to send details individually. Just to let you know that we are safe, we are still safe, the two girls and I are in a hotel with the two smaller dogs and the hamsters.
“Mark is in his music studio with the two biggest dogs and the cats, we have so many animals.”
She continued excitedly: “We managed to get the horse to safety, although it may have to be rescued again because the place they took it to is now threatened.”
‘Elwood and his girlfriend were at his girlfriend’s house and were evacuated, so they are now with other friends. “I can’t wait to have my family back together.”
Emma added that she “feels so blessed that everyone is safe” as so many people “have lost everything.”
However, he admitted his battle is not over yet as his home is “threatened again” and “none of the fires are contained.”
She told her followers: “They’re still furious so that’s the most exhausting thing, constantly searching online to see if your house is gone.” Then we had threats from looters. Can you believe there are people looting right now? What’s wrong with humanity?
Before saying goodbye and thanking everyone for their support, he admitted: “I’m trying to stay in this moment because if I go to tomorrow or the long term that’s when I’ll break down.”

‘We woke up to helicopters, thick black smoke, howling winds and the uncertainty that our house would survive.
‘I wish I had packed better. “Even if I had grabbed every one of her baby shoes, it would have been a big deal.”
He continued: ‘Many have lost everything, including pets. And it’s not over yet. Three active fires are burning around us and there is not enough water to control the situation. Planes are grounded due to winds.
‘I’m not sure what our next step will be. Right now I’m heavy and tired. We are beyond grateful to the heroes at @losangelesfiredepartment for everything they do during these times.
