She recently returned to work on her hit NBC series This Is Us, after giving birth to her son in August last month.

And Mandy Moore took to Instagram on Friday to give her followers an update on her post-pregnancy health, revealing that she is still suffering from ‘low [blood] platelets. ‘

While explaining her situation, the 36-year-old actress noted that she wants to get the platelet count in a ‘solid place’ so she doesn’t have to worry or wonder during the next pregnancy.

She first shared a photo from her doctor’s waiting room, writing, “back to the hematologist to see if my platelets have increased since I gave birth to the baby.”

Mandy seemed to be wearing a whimsical-looking floral dress with puff sleeves for her afternoon doctor’s appointment.

Her dark brown hair was parted in the middle and styled in loose waves and she wore a mask over her face.

After speaking to her doctor and finding out her results, Moore returned to her vehicle and provided her fans with an update.

“Platelets are going up, but still not great,” the star began, posing for the camera in clear-frame sunglasses.

‘I’m on a mission to do what I can to get them in a solid place so I don’t have to worry during the next pregnancy.

“I have to wait a few more months to absolutely confirm that ITP is for babies and not gestational thrombocytopenia,” she continued.

Moore concluded her text message by asking those who also suffer from “ low platelets ” to share what worked for them in the past to get their count.

Mandy’s candid health update comes just a day after she reprized her role as Rebecca Pearson on the set of This Is Us.

“ So grateful to be able to get back into this job I love so much (and to bring my dear husband and baby to stay with me), ” she gushed to her 4.5 million Instagram followers.

While her husband Taylor Goldsmith, whom she married in 2018, was not featured in any of her snaps, Moore filmed herself getting her hair and makeup done.

The two-time SAG Award winner captioned the recording: “Mom is BACK at work !!!”

In the images, the Golden Globe nominee wore a black face mask and a fluffy purple cloak with half of her brown hair pulled back into rollers.

Her second photo showed her wearing a fitted brown sweater and long denim skirt, showing off her toned post-pregnancy body.

In January, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman announced that filming would be delayed due to a COVID-19 wave in Los Angeles, where the much-loved show is being filmed.

Moore welcomed her first child, who she affectionately names Gus, in February to Goldsmith, 35, in February.

On February 23, she shared her first photos of little August.

“He was punctual and arrived exactly on his due date, much to the delight of his parents,” she wrote. “We were willing to fall in love in all kinds of brand new ways, but it’s going beyond what we ever imagined.”

She added that he had been “ on Earth for a week, ” suggesting he was born on February 20, although she has not yet confirmed his date of birth.
