The Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Kayky will arrive in Manchester next year and personal terms have been agreed on a five-year deal.

City will pay Fluminense an initial £ 8.5m, with extras to follow, which could push the final transfer fee to around £ 15m. The Brazilian club will also receive a percentage of any future sale.

Kayky will join City’s youth lineup when he arrives in England.

City has also been linked with another Fluminense candidate, 17-year-old defensive midfielder Metinho.

In 2020, the four-time Premier League champions made two notable purchases from South America.

They signed Yan Couto in March, with the 18-year-old Brazilian right-back moving from Coritiba on July 1.

He was then loaned out for this season to City Football Group (CFG) side Girona, who practice their profession in Spain’s Segunda Division.

City also captured Peruvian defender Kluiverth Aguilar from Alianza Lima last April for a fee of £ 1.5 million. He will join later this year when he turns 18 in May.
