A woman has been charged with felonies of domestic violence after a man was allegedly stabbed before he tumbled off the second-floor balcony of an old movie theater.
The man was reported to have fallen at 12:45 p.m. Friday at the disused entertainment complex on the corner of Blackwood and Sturt Street in Townsville’s CBD.
He suffered life-threatening injuries after reportedly falling from a balcony at the back of an emergency exit.
He was found unconscious with alleged stab wounds before being transported to Townsville University Hospital by paramedics.
The Kelso man remains in a critical but stable condition in intensive care, a Townsville Hospital and Health Department spokesman told ABC.

An investigation is underway into the alleged incident at the disused cinema (pictured)
“A 51-year-old woman, also from Kelso, was charged with one count of wounding (crime of domestic violence),” Queensland Police told the Daily Mail Australia.
She also faces a grievous bodily harm (domestic violence) charge.
The woman was taken into custody and will appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on June 10.
Another man who witnessed the alleged incident is assisting police in their investigation.
He is also known to the alleged victim.
Investigations are underway.
