The lady shared her hilarious story on a special Facebook page for those who like slow cooking, and it is described as ‘2020 in a dish’.

“Kids will love dinner … it’s slow boiled laurel infused water for eight hours. I completely forgot to put the corned beef in it, ”she said.

“I couldn’t believe my epic failed when I opened the lid and didn’t see the corned beef.”

INGREDIENTS

1 kg chicken thigh, cut into cubes

300 grams of bacon, cut into cubes

400 grams of mushrooms, sliced

An onion, cut into cubes

Three teaspoons of garlic, minced

Two cans of condensed chicken soup cream

Two x 600 ml thickened cream

A chicken stock cube

A package of 500 grams of fettuccine

METHOD

1. Add chicken, onion, bacon, garlic, mushrooms and stock cube to the slow cooker.

2. Pour over the soup mix.

3. Add cream and stir together.

4. Cook over low heat for four hours.

5. Put pasta in the slow cooker.

6. Combine all ingredients carefully.

7. Cook for 1.5 hours on high heat in the six liter slow cooker.

“Years ago I cooked a roast in the oven … work for my parents and mother-in-law. I almost cooked it and the oven door splintered into the food. Sandwiches for lunch that day, ”said an amateur chef.

“I remember years ago when people were visiting and I didn’t know them very well, but I decided to make lasagna and salad because we had five children and four adults,” said another.

“Quick and easy – especially when I started serving, I forgot to put the lasagna sheets in it.”

“Reminds me of the time I made Italian bread in my bread maker. I spent 30 minutes chopping herbs and garlic, adding the ingredients and waiting. The bread would have been delicious if I had added the water – I had hot, spiced flour, ”said a third.
