Virgin Australia has launched a new summer menu offering passengers margaritas, gin cocktails and chocolate waffles at 35,000 feet.

Economy class passengers will be able to enjoy Virgin’s food festival in the skies with batch salted grapefruit margaritas, Papa Salt gin pigeons, chocolate waffles and corn chips now available for sale.

New meals including spinach and ricotta cannelloni, honey fried chicken, as well as Belgian chocolate waffles and triple choc cookies will be available on select flights.

The airline has revamped its inflight menu in time for summer to offer its passengers more variety and great value.

Ali Dunn, managing director of product and customer strategy at Virgin Australia, said they had curated a diverse selection of meals and snacks that highlighted premium Australian products to suit a variety of tastes.

“Delivering the highest quality inflight experience is at the core of what we do, and this extends to our menus,” he said.
