Married At First Sight’s Melissa Rawson has explained why she always seems so quiet around her ‘husband’ Bryce Ruthven during the show.
The workplace trainer, 31, told me Kyle and Jackie O it bothers her that viewers think she is incapable of standing up for herself around her partner.

Melissa acknowledged that she “ looks kind of pathetic and weak on TV, ” but said this is only because she likes to avoid conflict.
“Looks like I’m kind of pathetic and weak,” she told Kyle and Jackie O.
‘But it’s just my personality, I don’t like confrontation and I still got to know Bryce in those early days, so right now I’m more than happy to try him out for everything he says and does.’

On Monday one Change.org A petition began circulating demanding that Channel Nine issue an apology for airing “triggering” scenes featuring the “gaslighting” groom and his long-suffering wife.
The petition, which received 2,500 signatures in less than 24 hours, also calls on Nine to acknowledge her alleged ‘failure to act as a duty of care’ towards Melissa.

On Sunday’s episode of Married At First Sight, Bryce humiliated his bride at the ceremony by revealing that he had initially voted to leave the experiment before finally deciding to stay.
Bryce later defended writing leave, saying he didn’t want to break up with Melissa, but instead wanted the couple to leave the “ toxic environment ” of the experiment.
The other couples lashed out at him, citing a series of incidents in which he repeatedly showed disdain for Melissa’s feelings.
