The eyelash technician, 31, returns to the ITV2 show as part of this year’s All Stars series after competing in the 2019 installment alongside Maura Higgins.

She only lasted a week in the villa during her first outing and had better luck with men after joining ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex, when she dated James ‘Diags’ Bennewith.

However, five years on from her debut on Love Island, she believes being more mature and older will help her in her bid to finally land Mr Right – and she knows exactly his type in the role.

Speaking to MailOnline, he said: “I like dad’s body, someone tall, light-eyed. I couldn’t tell you any ex-Islander because there is no one off the cuff who fits this description: light-eyed, very tall. Ideally, I’m over 6 feet square, but I’ll go with 6 feet and a dad bod, that’s my ideal and someone who’s really fun.

‘I laugh at everything; It doesn’t take much, but I want someone who shares the same sense of humor as me and who can tell a joke and not take it too seriously.

‘That’s my type, you can’t change it, it’s like saying why do you like orange juice? It’s because it tastes good.’

Elma admits that she is “consistently inconsistent” with her relationships and has experienced commitment issues in the past, something “Diags” knows all too well from their ill-fated romance.

She explained: “With myself and with James I think it made me a little bit more aware of how at that time, especially with James, unfortunately for him, I had some kind of commitment problem at that time in my life.

‘It was two years ago, but I thought I wanted that with James, but I didn’t really. So much happens in such a short amount of time that I couldn’t tell you I was the same person a week ago, let alone a year or five years ago when I first did the show.

However, she now feels ready for a long-term relationship and is determined to find one in the villa, this time in Cape Town, South Africa.

Elma said: ‘I feel ready for a committed relationship… I want a boy. I want to be with someone.

“Doing Love Island again the second time, especially five years later now that I’m a lot older, going in there with no real desire to meet someone is very stupid and embarrassing.

Since finding fame on Love Island in 2019, Elma joined the cast of TOWIE and says she hopes her castmates, including Chloe Green and Courtney Meadows, will support her return to the villa.

‘I know I want to go in and meet someone. I am very open. My motto is if I always do what I’ve always done, I’ll always get what I’ve always got and that’s been my little motto for this experience and since the New Year.

‘I have a habit of returning to the same people and things that are familiar to me because I’m a creature of habit, and I feel like that’s what I do. I feel like I’ll never get anywhere and I’ll never move on or meet anyone, so I’m trying to take a different approach this time. I guess I’ll be completely myself and not so closed off.

He added: “I’ve gotten to an age where I don’t want to date just for the sake of dating, and that’s what’s different than when I did it before. I used to go out and have fun, and I didn’t think.” I would end up wanting to marry someone.

‘Now, I’m at that stage where I really think that if I’m dating it’s because I want to be with someone for a long time rather than dating and falling apart. Age isn’t a thing as such, but you don’t know until you meet someone.

Just like the man of her dreams, Elma hasn’t spent hours in the gym ahead of her return to Love Island.

In fact, he jokes that his only preparation has been “eating Christmas pudding.”

You may struggle during the show’s famous Heart Rate Challenge, where girls dress in sexy lingerie for the male islanders, whose heart rates are measured to see whose contestant’s pulse races faster.

Speaking about taking part in the task, Elma added: “I’m not a sexy person so it’s going to be a lot of laughs for everyone else but me.” I’m going to take it all with a pinch of salt.’
