This is the terrifying moment when a knife ‘runs at police officers’ before being tasered outside a busy London train station.
Officers arrived on the scene at around 6.45pm yesterday to discover a man in his 50s carrying a knife outside Tooting railway station in south London at around 6.45pm.
They surrounded the knife man at the Polish supermarket Delight, a stone’s throw from the station.
Footage taken from across the street shows the man, wearing a black jacket and pants, walking in the middle of the road as officers point Tasers at him from the sidewalk.
The video sees the man stop suddenly as he is hit by the conducted energy device, before collapsing to the ground.

Members of the public walked by in disbelief at the sight of the gunman, with some even capturing the shocking moment on their smartphones.
The man, whose identity is not known, is still detained at a South London police station at the time of writing.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police told MailOnline: ‘Police were called to reports of a man in possession of a knife outside Tooting railway station at about 6.45pm on Tuesday 25 April.
When officers arrived, the man ran towards them with a knife.
Police fired a taser when the man was detained. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an assault weapon.
The man, who is in his 50s, was treated for minor injuries. No one else was injured.
“He remains in custody at a South London police station.”
The knife involved in the incident has since been recovered.
