Leonardo DiCaprio has proven himself something of an eco-hypocrite once again by attending an eco-fashion event in Los Angeles after logging 12,000 air miles in two weeks while enjoying nights out with numerous models.
The 48-year-old actor posed alongside leaders in sustainable fashion and activism while attending the Green Carpet Fashion Awards on Thursday.
But it comes when you’ve traveled between the US and cities like London, Milan and Paris for just two weeks, racking up more than 12,000 travel miles.
While it is not yet known how the trip was made, the environmental activist has previously been criticized for his use of gas-guzzling private planes.
In 2016, he was ridiculed for taking an 8,000-mile private jet trip from Europe to New York City to accept an award for his environmental activism.
A bit of an eco-hypocrite, Leo! DiCaprio, a lover of private jets, headed to the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, after traveling 12,000 miles in 2 weeks to chase models in Europe.
Heading into awards night this week, Leonardo looked smart as he made a rare photo stop at the event, which was held at the Neuehouse Hollywood.
Wearing a smart navy blue suit for the appearance, he smiled alongside Brazil’s Minister of Indigenous Peoples, Sonia Guajajara, in the winners’ room.
A star-studded crowd turned out for the annual Green Carpet Fashion Awards, with Heidi Klum, Cate Blanchett and Jodie Turner-Smith hitting the red carpet in style.
Despite his usual tendency to avoid the cameras, the Shutter Island actor was happy to be together with Sonia for a photo.
The event celebrates fashion and entertainment figures who have been positive forces in promoting cultural change.
While Leonardo has been an outspoken advocate for environmental issues for much of his career.
The star has been enjoying a hard-working, hard-playing lifestyle, as he was spotted out on several nights out across Europe this month.
Kicking off the trip was the BAFTA in London on February 19, where he hosted a pre-awards party after making the 5,437-mile journey from Los Angeles.
Here, he spread tongues by inviting Maya Jama to the party and reportedly partying all night with the host, who left within minutes of him.
Then the next night, they both attended the same BAFTAs after-party at Annabel’s members’ club, sponsored by British Vogue and Tiffany & Co.

Smiles: Wearing a smart navy blue suit, she smiled alongside Brazil’s Minister of Indigenous Peoples Sonia Guajajara and Gasparini Kaingang in the winners’ room.
Leonardo was seen leaving the after party at Annabel’s through the back door in the early hours of Monday morning.
Before leaving London, he also partyed into the early hours with model Josie Redmond, 21, just days later at the city’s Chiltern Firehouse.
It was a quick turnaround, as the actor was seen enjoying a night out with friends in Milan on February 25, traveling around 595 flight miles between the UK and Italy.
Meeting up with ex-boyfriend Gigi Hadid, 27, in the city, the pair seemed to remain friends as they both relaxed after a day of fashion shows.
After a couple of nightclub appearances in Milan, Leonardo hosted a party in Paris on March 3 as he kicked off the fashion week celebrations there.
Thought to have traveled by plane, he would have made the 397-mile journey between Milan and Paris.

Activist: Leonardo has been an outspoken advocate for environmental issues for much of his career.

Critics: Although he often campaigns on environmental issues, Leonardo has previously been criticized for taking long trips on a private jet for short periods of time (pictured at COP26 in Glasgow)
Maya Jama was also in Paris for fashion week at the time, and the actor was spotted with her once again, while also out partying with rumored girlfriend Rose Bertram, 28.
Rose was photographed several times at Leonardo’s hotel after the night, before the duo headed to a Paris cabaret bar days later.
After last being seen in the French capital over the weekend, Leonardo made the 5,642-mile trip back to Los Angeles, heading to the Green Carpet Fashion Awards as his first outing since returning.
Previously, Leonardo was criticized for taking long private jet trips in short periods of time.
In 2016, he reportedly flew 8,000 miles on a private jet from Europe to New York City to accept an award for his environmental activism.
At the time, the actor and environmentalist was seen in Cannes, where the Film Festival was underway, but he left the French Riviera for a brief trip to New York City, where he received an honor at the Riverkeeper Fishermen’s Ball, Page Six reported.
He then hopped back on another private jet to attend the amfAR gala in Antibes, about eight miles from Cannes, just 24 hours later.
While in 2014 he gave a speech in front of the United Nations on climate change after marching with 400,000 other people through the streets of New York.
But the Hollywood star’s own socialite lifestyle reveals a double standard on the issue of climate change, as she owns multiple homes and then made the trip by private jet.
After causing a wave of controversy with the trip, he seemed set to make amends in 2021: traveling commercially to Glasgow for the COP26 eco-summit.
