Host Ken Hose has passed away at the age of 85.
The sad news was announced by 7News Queensland presenter Samantha Heathwood in an emotional message shared live on the channel on Sunday.
Ken was an instantly recognizable face on 7News during the 1970s and 1980s for reporting on the AFL and presenting the weather.
In a moving tribute to Ken, Samantha said: “Ken spent over a decade with Seven during the 1970s and 1980s covering his beloved AFL and presenting numerous programs and events.
“He also read the winning lottery numbers and presented the time.”

Ken is survived by his wife Pam, three children and grandchildren.
