LeBron James and his son Bronny James officially became the first father-son duo to play as teammates in an NBA game Sunday night during a Lakers preseason game against Phoenix.
Bronny, who turned 20 on Sunday, entered the game to start the second quarter and mark the historic moment.
The James duo began the frame by both defending in the near court while the Suns entered the ball side by side.
LeBron started Sunday’s game after missing Friday’s game against the Timberwolves due to rest.
Bronny entered the NBA draft after just one season of college basketball with the USC Trojans.

The younger James was selected with the 55th overall pick in the NBA Draft to become the first active father-son duo on the same NBA roster.
Bronny’s selection was seen as a serious case of nepotism in the NBA, as his college statistics were worse than some undrafted players.
That didn’t stop him from cashing in as he heads to the pros, however, as Bronny signed a massive contract with the Lakers worthy of a first-round pick.
Bronny agreed to a four-year, $7.9 million contract with a team option for the fourth year.
Bronny’s contract is the second largest for a second-round draft pick, with last year’s No. 34 overall pick, Sacramento’s Colby Jones, signing an $8.8 million contract.
The Lakers’ other pick in this year’s NBA Draft, former Tennessee star Dalton Knecht, signed a four-year, $18.4 million contract after being selected 17th overall.
LeBron had long expressed his desire to play with Bronny in the NBA, and that dream became a reality.
James, 19, only averaged 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game during his first season at USC.
Redick has never coached in the NBA before and is now at the helm of one of the most popular sports franchises in the United States.
Bronny playing in the NBA a year ago seemed like an impossible task after he suffered cardiac arrest in July during a Trojans practice and was hospitalized for three days.
