Lala Kent has shared the details of her birth story after welcoming her second daughter, Sosa, earlier this month.
The 34-year-old Vanderpump Rules personality announced her baby boy’s arrival via Instagram on Sept. 9, simply writing in the caption, “Sosa Kent,” along with a black-and-white image of his feet.
In the latest episode of his podcast Give them LalaThe star revealed that the child’s rapid delivery caused the baby to “turn purple” at one point.
“During my second to last push, (my obstetrician) stands up really quickly and stares at the monitor,” she recalled.
And he added: “And he makes eyes at the nurse who reads him things that I clearly don’t understand because I’m not a doctor. And he seems nervous.”

In the latest episode of her podcast Give Them Lala, the star revealed that the rapid delivery of the child caused the baby to “turn purple” at one point.
“During my second-to-last push, (my obstetrician) stands up really quickly and stares at the monitor,” she recalled.
Kent said she asked her doctor if everything was okay and the medical professional replied, “Yeah, I just want you to keep pushing.”
She later learned that “the (umbilical) cord was wrapped around (Sosa’s) neck a couple of times.”
Lala said that after the incident, her doctor “stayed calm” and “didn’t let her know about it.”
The reality TV star continued: “She comes out, they put her on my chest and I go to hold her, you know, hold my baby, but the way the nurse is acting with the baby… and she’s not crying. She cries once and then she stops.”
“And my hands are frozen, so I’m like, ‘I’m not going to touch her because I don’t want her to go into shock,'” the new mom said.
The nurses then began “rubbing his chest” and “sucking things out of his mouth” as it turned out the newborn had swallowed amniotic fluid.
She shared with listeners: ‘For mom, it was great that he came out so quickly because I didn’t have to push many times, but with a quick delivery like that, he swallowed a lot of amniotic fluid.’

Lala, born Lauren, said Sosa “had so much fluid in her that she was throwing up all the food she had.”
That’s when the baby “turned purple” and “scared” the nurse, prompting a call for reinforcements.
Kent continued: ‘Then they bring in a specialist and say, “We want you to be examined by a surgeon because this is not normal,” and we take out 10 milliliters of amniotic fluid from your stomach the first time, then we take out another eight, then we take out another eight milliliters.”
The story sounded increasingly dire as she revealed: “And they said, ‘And now we’re draining it through her nose and it’s not stopping. ‘ And they said, ‘Either we’re going to have pediatric surgery take care of it or we want to keep her in the NICU. ‘”

Before giving birth, Lala shared a photo montage on Instagram of the last weeks of her second pregnancy.
Lala began blaming herself for the scary time as she wondered what she had done differently between her first and second pregnancies. In addition to Sosa, she has a three-year-old daughter, Ocean, with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett.
The media personality said she was “out of it” and asked: “What the fuck?”
‘I started crying and they said, ‘You didn’t do anything wrong during the pregnancy; we’re just a little confused.’
In the end, she said her daughter turned out “fine.” The new mother of two was spotted having lunch with Sosa in Sherman Oaks two weeks after she gave birth.
In a post following the announcement of her daughter’s arrival, she wrote: ‘Two weeks ago on September 3rd, I welcomed my second baby girl, Sosa Kent. I’ve been open about my dream of this moment – at 10:13pm, the moment became a reality.
“My little dream baby has come into the world. I am completely in love with her. We all are. Sosa, you have no idea what you have brought into my life. I am so lucky to be able to call myself your mommy. Welcome to our crazy world, bubu. We are so happy you are here.”
