Kourtney Kardashian revealed why she had to undergo emergency fetal surgery last summer on the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians.
The episode was filmed last fall and in it, the Lemme founder, 45, prepares to give birth to Rocky Thirteen Barker, her son with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, 48.
“A couple of months ago, we had a scary scare where I had to have emergency fetal surgery,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum explained in a confessional.
The scene then cuts to the reality TV star recovering from surgery.
“Baby Rocky had to undergo fetal surgery for fluid in his lungs,” he explained.

“And it’s very rare that this is the condition he had, but it’s also very rare and fortunate that we detected it.”
‘And thank you, God, for this successful surgery. “Honestly, I’m so grateful I have no words,” she said with relief.
The show then cut back to her in the confessional, where she continued talking about how she felt during that terrifying moment.
‘I definitely felt full of fear after the surgery and the fluid in his lungs. “It actually started to come back and then I watched this documentary called Heal which was about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health,” he said.
“And then I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers, and after I had that mindset change, the fluid completely disappeared and we didn’t have a single problem.”
In September, Kourtney wrote about the relief she felt after the surgery was successful in an Instagram post.
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I was not prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery,” she wrote.
“I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear.”

The show then saw her again in the confessional, where she continued to talk about how she felt during that terrifying moment.
