Kesha is filled with ‘gratitude’ for the feedback she’s received on her latest single.

The 37-year-old We R Who We R singer, who was recently spotted on a shopping spree in West Hollywood, released Joyride on July 4 and is thrilled that people have responded so well to the song as it represents her quest for her freedom.

This comes six months after her decade-long legal battle with producer Dr Luke came to an end.

The song is the first release on her own label, Kesha Records, after the singer left her previous label, Kemosabe, in December.

When asked about the response to Joyride, he said: Forbes:’I love gratitude and happiness, I feel free for the first time since I was 18 and I really appreciate every single person who has shared it and I love the videos that are being made.’

“I’ve spent nearly 10 years in litigation and millions of dollars in legal fees. This joy has taken a lot of work, so I love that people are willing to join me on this journey,” she told the outlet.

In October 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke (born Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald), 50, who It included numerous allegations, including sexual harassment and gender-based hatred. crime and workplace discrimination.

The singer and producer filed several more lawsuits until they finally reached an agreement in June 2023.

The “Praying” singer told Forbes that she’s always found songwriting helpful when it comes to working through her emotions and “processing life.”

She shared: ‘I started writing songs to deal with my emotions. I’m a very sensitive person, I’m triple Pisces, so these emotions come up very intensely and people can do a lot of things with them.

‘If you’re feeling angry, people can go smash a car window, but for me, if I’m feeling angry, I take it into the studio and I currently surround myself with incredibly safe people who help me take my emotions and alchemize them into a song.

“So, it’s become the way I process life and the beautiful part about writing music or making any kind of art is that you can process something, hopefully, in a safe way,” he added.

And Kesha loves that what she’s created as an artist can help others.

She gushed: ‘Once it has left your body and made its way onto the page or the microphone, if you choose to share it, that healing that you experience can possibly help heal other people.
