New York City restaurateur Keith McNally did a complete 180 on Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez at the Met Gala on Monday night, praising the couple’s ensemble.
McNally said she has faced backlash for posting photos of Amazon founder and his future wife Lauren Sanchez, calling her “disgusting.”
On Monday, however, he turned the page on the couple, praising their outfits at the famous gala.
“Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez make their Met Gala debut tonight and they look like a million dollars,” McNally wrote on her infamous Instagram page.
“It never feels good when reality doesn’t fit one’s narrative, but I have to admit that Bezos and Sanchez looked stunning and very beautiful tonight.”

Some of McNally’s regular readers wondered what they had done with the usually salty restaurateur.
One follower wondered out loud in the comments section: ‘Did they threaten you or something?’
‘[K]”Blink if you’re being held hostage,” another joked.
Another wondered if McNally was really congratulating the couple given Bezos’ enormous wealth.
—Isn’t it an insult for a billionaire to say that they look like a million dollars?
Balthazar’s owner posted a series of seemingly unprovoked photos of the couple on April 15, along with the caption: ‘Does anyone else find Jeff Bezos’ new wife Lauren Sanchez ABSOLUTELY REVOLTANT?’
‘What an ugly, fucking stuck-up couple they make. Is this what having $1,000 billion does to people?’
On Sunday, McNally criticized people who spoke out in Sanchez’s defense, including his famous friends.

On Monday, however, McNally turned the page on the couple, praising their outfits at the famous gala.
His praise of Sánchez made some of McNally’s regular readers wonder what they had done with the usually salty restaurateur.
“Although 90 percent of the 3,000 comments I received on my post about Sanchez were light and funny – and in keeping with the post – the comments I received from the wives of other billionaires were strange and unfunny,” McNally said.
‘The least funny was that of comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s wife (whom I adore): Jessica Seinfeld. Seinfeld must have been embarrassed by her comment because she quickly deleted it.
‘Here’s part of it: “THIS POST IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR TWISTED, REGRETTABLE, HORRIBLE MIND. LAUREN HAS TWICE THE CHARACTER OF YOU.”‘
‘”Twisted, pitiful and gruesome.” That bastard must have read my memoirs,” he said.
He then apologized half-heartedly and dragged those who criticized him for commenting on Sanchez’s appearance.
“Of course it’s wrong to criticize someone you don’t know (sorry, Hitler), especially when they’re as healthy and natural as Sanchez looks in the photo above,” McNally said.
The former television presenter, 54, went out on the red carpet without her fiancé on her arm and chose to walk alone in front of the cameras at the glittering gala, where she made an incredible display with an Oscar from the Rental Dress.
Eventually, the couple was photographed together, which is what McNally judged.

But while the dress itself was truly eye-catching, what was more surprising was the huge new diamond Lauren wore on her ring finger, a massive pear-shaped design that dwarfed even the giant rock Bezos had proposed in 2023.
Meanwhile, her dress managed to attract a lot of attention.
Designed to look like “broken glass,” the strapless dress perfectly accentuated Lauren’s enviable figure, with the voluminous skirt flowing around her as she walked up the Metropolitan Museum’s iconic stairs and into the event.
While the top of the dress was relatively simple, featuring a black bodice with a strapless sweetheart neckline, the skirt was covered in intricate floral designs that looked like a garden mosaic, very much in keeping with this year’s dress code, The Garden of Time. .
The award-winning journalist wore a striking, sheer, tight-fitting black dress to the event, even though Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is rumored to dislike the outfits she usually wears.
DailyMail.com reported last week that the future Mrs. Bezos was only allowed to attend the $350,000-per-table table dance if the Vogue editor has a say over what she wears.
A source recently told Anna’s biographer Amy Odell that the famously demanding editor knows Lauren has “bad taste” and is willing to personally help her select a dress.
Lauren is known for wearing figure-hugging, skin-covering ensembles that leave little to the imagination.

“Anna doesn’t always get personally involved in what guests wear,” the author wrote, adding that she was working with Lauren to choose between custom designs from the classic Oscar de la Renta style and two other as-yet-unnamed designers.
Wintour (and McNally) aren’t alone in their criticism of how Lauren dresses, apparently, as host Megyn Kelly recently said she “looked like a prostitute” in Milan.
McNally, the owner of enduring New York City hotspots Balthazar, Pastis, Minetta Tavern and Morandi, has had several fights with well-known visitors to his restaurants.
