A shopping center packed with weekend shoppers was thrown into chaos after a teenager allegedly ran a knife through it.
It comes two weeks after seven people were killed and 12 more injured during a stabbing attack at Bondi Junction Westfield on April 13.
Police swarmed the Karrinyup shopping center in Perth’s north at around 3.45pm on Saturday after receiving reports that a person was armed with a knife.
“There is no ongoing threat to the community,” a WA Police spokesperson said. Perth now.

He then fled the store, terrifying shoppers who allegedly saw him running past with a knife in his hand.
Police arrested the teenager on Karrinyup Road shortly afterwards and a knife has since been located and seized.
A ‘code brown’ alert was reportedly issued, the same alert that is issued for mass casualty or disaster events.
One buyer said 7News He heard people screaming and panicked.
‘Everything was normal until we heard a female voice shouting something like ‘help’. ‘Aid! Stop it, stop it!’ And then there was a shout from security… and then we heard her say ‘she has a knife,'” she said.
“Of course, the nuances of the last few weeks passed through my heart and I was absolutely scared.”
Wanneroo city councilor Helen Berry shared a post on her Facebook page alerting her constituents about the alleged incident.
“I hope everyone shopping at Myers Karrinyup is safe as police have swarmed Karrinyup Shopping Center in the last hour after a juvenile allegedly brandished a knife while attempting to rob the Myers store,” he said.
