Kanye West compares home in LA with Kim Kardashian to ‘prison’

Kanye West reportedly burst into tears onstage at his album-listening party in Las Vegas over the weekend, playing a song that featured disparaging remarks about his marriage to Kim Kardashian.

His new song Welcome to my Life is said to feature lyrics about his difficult personal life, including his current divorce from the KUWTK star, his Twitter collapses, and the failed US presidency bid, according to The sun.

Kim, 40, officially filed for divorce from Kanye, 44, after seven years of marriage, in February this year and requested joint legal and physical custody of their four children.

The lyrics of his new song reportedly compare their matrimonial home in Calabasas, which he shared with Kim, to prison, as he raps, “Tell the assassins I escaped from Calabasas.”

A source at the listening party told The Sun: “It’s a very deep, sad song about Kanye, where he thinks back to his marriage to Kim.”

“He talks about the kids and says she’s taking everything. After playing this song, he paused for about two minutes and cried. It was really gloomy.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for West who were not available for comment so far.

The rapper held the event for his tenth album – titled Donda after his late mother – at ChurchLV, a non-denominational Christian church in the Las Vegas Valley.

Kanye, who described himself as a born-again Christian, released a gospel album in 2019, Jesus is King.

The secret listening party enforced a strict no-phone policy, but some attendees later revealed secrets of the new recording.

It is also said to contain fragments of his mother Donda, who died in 2007 at the age of 58 after having plastic surgery.

Social media star Justin Laboy yesterday claimed to be one of the lucky people to hear the new album, as did basketball player Kevin Durant over the weekend.

Justin tweeted: ‘Kanye played his new album for me & @KDTrey5 in Vegas last night. Man listen! The production is light years ahead of its time, and the bars sound like it’s broke and hungry to be redrawn.

The internet personality also called the record ‘album of the year’.

As for a release date, Justin claimed fans will be hearing the LP this week.

He added: “Kanye West’s album is really done. If it comes out this week, we probably won’t be listening to anything else for a while. Let me enjoy all the current artists I’m listening to until then. God bless #Respectful (sic)’

It has also been reported that there was a listening party in Las Vegas and people then took to social media to share photos of the venue.

Kanye — who was in a relationship with model Irina Shayk in recent weeks, following his split with estranged wife Kim Kardashian West — was set to release his next album, Donda, last year, but fans are still waiting for the record.

Named after the rapper’s late mother, Donda West, the Stronger hitmaker had claimed the collection would be released on social media on July 24, 2020.

However, he later revealed another set of songs that will appear on the record, with his recent track with Travis Scott, Wash Us In The Blood, no longer appearing on the 12-track LP.
