Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has turned down numerous interviews ahead of Election Day, and now she’s denying one to a media outlet owned by a former Democratic presidential contender.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Harris’ campaign rejected Bloomberg News’ proposal for an interview in addition to CNBC and Time Magazine.
The company was founded by former New York mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, who ran in 2020 before dropping out to endorse Biden.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump participated in a town hall with Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait at the Economic Club of Chicago on Tuesday afternoon, where he discussed his tariff plans, his relationship with Vladimir Putin and more.
Kamala Harris recently gave an interview to 60 Minutes after being accused of not speaking to enough media outlets.
The former New York mayor may have outraged the Harris campaign by not immediately offering his full endorsement after Biden dropped out this summer. He has yet to endorse Harris.
“Democrats now have a chance for a fresh start,” Bloomberg wrote in X shortly after Biden dropped out of the race in July.
“We don’t need to get a resolution right away, but we do need to get it right,” Bloomberg said. “The decision is too important to rush, because the election is too important to lose.”
News of Harris’ refusal came during a cnn segment where host Boris Sánchez questioned Harris-Walz campaign spokesperson Ian Sams about the vice president’s appearances in the media.
The CNN anchor began highlighting Harris’ record, mentioning her absence at the Bloomberg event and her recent denials of interviews with Time magazine and CNBC.
CNN anchor Boris Sanchez questioned Harris-Walz spokesman Ian Sams over his suggestion that avoiding media interviews is an indicator of mental acuity issues.
“Now the vice president was invited to appear with (CNBC) but she refused, she also refused to be in that Bloomberg conversation,” Sánchez said.
‘He also turned down an interview with Time magazine. Decreased media views really aren’t an indicator of mental fitness, right? -he questioned the spokesperson.

The Democratic spokesperson then asserted that Harris is not afraid of combative interviews, pointing to her scheduled appearance on Fox News on Wednesday.
“She’s out there answering questions from really tough corners,” Sams assured the host.
Harris is also facing the wrath of Time’s owner after she refused to attend an interview with the renowned news magazine.
Marc Benioff wrote about his disappointment with X, stating that Time magazine has been in touch several times to interview the presidential candidate.
“Despite multiple requests, Time has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris, unlike any other presidential candidate,” the owner posted on Sunday.
Benioff included a link to interviews Time magazine conducted with former President Donald Trump and President Biden when he was still running for re-election in 2024.

“We believe in transparency and publish each interview in its entirety,” he added in the post. ‘Why doesn’t the vice president interact with the public at the same level?’
A Time article published on October 10 titled What Kind of President Would Kamala Harris Make? notes that the vice president “declined repeated requests for an interview for this story.”
‘By contrast, Trump discussed his political views with a Time reporter for 90 minutes in two interviews. “Biden spoke to Time in a similar manner before dropping out of the race,” they added in that article.
The allegation of Harris’ refusal to interview with the magazine comes as CBS News faces intense backlash for favorably editing its 60 Minutes interview with the candidate.
Critics have questioned Harris’ media strategy ahead of the election.
Vice President Harris’ media strategy has come under fire from critics after she snubbed several traditional and legacy media outlets in favor of more alternative outlets, such as the raunchy, sex-focused podcast Call Her Daddy.

The vice president has participated in some questionable interviews, such as the raunchy, sex-focused podcast Call Her Daddy.
And he has turned down some more traditional interviews, such as with Time magazine or traditional television outlets, to appear on radio shows like Howard Stern or Charlamagne Tha God, with whom he will sit down in Detroit on Tuesday.
But Harris did accept some traditional interviews, such as with 60 Minutes and CNN, where she appeared alongside her running mate and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Although she declined to grant an interview to Time, Harris posed for a photo shoot with Vogue, which published its glowing profile of the vice president on Friday. The magazine revealed a long narrative of what life is like for her since Biden retired and she took over his campaign.
Harris attended an interview and participated in a photo session with famed photographer Annie Leibovitz at the vice president’s residence on October 7.
The cover described Harris as “the candidate of our times” and featured her wearing a Gabriela Hearst suit and $800 Tiffany earrings.
