JP Morgan Chase boss Jamie Dimon has some advice for the next US president as the country navigates a “dangerous moment.”
In an opinion piece for The Washington PostDimon outlined his vision for how the next POTUS can unite the nation after a polarizing election and “restore faith in America.”
“Deeply divided, our nation now faces challenging domestic problems and perhaps the most complicated geopolitical situation since World War II,” Dimon, 68, wrote.
We could be at a tipping point that will determine the fate of the free and democratic world for decades to come.
Dimon suggested that the next president should bring in political opponents to work in his administration, as well as figures from the private sector.

The CEO also implored presidential candidates to refrain from attacking those with a different political ideology.
She wrote: ‘Don’t insult, don’t stereotype, don’t weaponize, don’t scapegoat or gaslight.
“And don’t attack them. Confront them. That takes courage.”
Dimon, chief executive of the nation’s largest bank, has not endorsed any presidential candidate.
Earlier this year, Dimon said he was concerned that geopolitical developments, including the war in Ukraine and the war between Israel and Hamas, as well as political polarization in the United States, could be creating an environment that “may very well be creating risks that could dwarf anything since World War II.”
The comments came in an annual letter to shareholders from Dimon, who often uses the letter to weigh in on broad topics such as politics, regulation and global events and what they might mean for JPMorgan Chase as well as the broader economy.
Dimon also used his letter to strongly defend the firm’s diversity and equality efforts, rejecting arguments from Republicans who have said such efforts at Fortune 500 companies, colleges and universities are discriminatory and promote left-wing ideology.

“America’s global leadership role is being challenged abroad by other nations and at home by our polarized electorate,” Dimon said.
“We need to find ways to put aside our differences and work collaboratively with other Western nations in the name of democracy. In these times of great crisis, it is critical that we come together to protect our essential freedoms, including free enterprise.”
As he has in previous letters, Dimon said he continues to believe the United States must assume a significant leadership position in the world through trade, military power and a resilient economy supported by strong infrastructure spending.
He has long argued that the United States must continue to maintain its leadership role in the West or else it will end up ceding it to China as an authoritarian superpower. This includes continuing to support Ukraine in its war against Russia, Dimon argued.
