John Cena has named the four wrestlers he considers the GOATS of WWE, omitting himself and The Undertaker from his distinguished list.
Several fans would put Cena at the forefront of WWE’s biggest conversation of all time, but the 16-time world champion believes there are four stars more deserving of the title.
Cena, 46, who revealed his plans to retire from WWE before turning 50 in January, was asked to name his GOAT during an interview with Chris van Vliet this week.
‘This is just my perspective and, again, we are talking about objectivity. So, of course, it’s just an opinion,” the WWE superstar said.
‘Hulk Hogan should be there. Steve Austin, Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson and Roman Reigns.
Wrestling legend John Cena, 46, named the four athletes he considers the GOATS of WWE.
Cena, who in January revealed his plan to retire from WWE when he turns 50, opted out
“Roman has done a fantastic job taking the business to heights it has never reached before.”
Placing Reigns, 38, in the company of three historic superstars is a testament to the wrestler’s sensational WWE career.
The American is the current and longest-reigning WWE Universal Champion and also holds the title of WWE Champion for the fourth time.
The Undertaker is perhaps a surprise exclusion from Cena’s illustrious list, given the longevity of his iconic career.
While he may not boast the same accolades in terms of titles and belts, The Undertaker will always be remembered for his historic WrestleMania winning streak of 8,415 days, triumphing in 21 consecutive matches.
Cena urged that Hulk Hogan (above) “had to be in” the greatest of all time conversation.
Steve Austin (left) and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (right) also feature on Cena’s illustrious list.
The Undertaker is perhaps a surprise exclusion, given the longevity of his iconic career.
Fans are hopeful that Cena, who hasn’t fought in the WWE ring since Crown Jewel in November 2023, will appear at WrestleMania 40 in April.
However, the veteran’s inclusion will depend significantly on his acting schedule, as Cena will begin filming the second season of Peacemaker very soon.
