Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid has agreed to a new three-year extension with the team worth $193 million.
Embiid revealed on Friday that he has signed a deal for a lucrative extension with the Sixers, which reportedly includes a player option for 2028-29.
“Philadelphia is my home. I want to be here for the rest of my career,” the 30-year-old wrote alongside photos of himself signing the deal alongside his wife Anne de Paula, four-year-old son Arthur and Sixers managing partner Josh Harris on Instagram.
‘I love this community and everything they have given to me and my family. There is much more work to be done.
‘You guys deserve a championship and I think we’re just getting started!’
Embiid, one of the most dominant centers in modern NBA history and the 2023 MVP, will decline his $59 million player option for the 2026-27 season and instead sign his new three-year extension that will see him make $69 million in the third and final year.
