After arrival for a fee of £ 1.08 million of Tottenham last season, Hart went on to stake his claim to the starting position between the sticks for Celtic.

In 35 games in the Scottish Premiership, the former England international kept 19 clean sheets and led the way in the division – five ahead of Hearts’ Craig Gordon.

Barkas on the other hand had a scorching time for The Hoops, playing just one game in the league all season and once in a Champions League qualifier.

After establishing himself in the basics of the competition, Hart also played in five Europa League matches, although the Bhoys failed to make it past the group stage of the competition.

The 35-year-old also added the Scottish League Cup to an already well-stocked trophy cabinet that includes the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Hart finished the season with 26 clean sheets in 54 games and conceded just 47 goals in all competitions as the Glasgow side achieved a Premiership-League Cup double in 2021/22.

However, since leaving Spurs Hart, he has revealed how he was contemplating retirement as a result of treatment by then manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who lost confidence in the former England No. 1’s body.

Hart said, “He literally buried me and I laugh because whether I’m misled or not, I thought, I don’t agree.

‘I asked for your opinion, you gave it, it’s not what I wanted to hear and I’ll have to get myself out of this situation.

“I literally went home and I’m completely stunned here, I think I’m done, I can’t be a***d anymore.

“I can’t sit in a room and let him tell me that anymore.”

Hart, who played 75 times for England, has played in the highest echelons of football with Burnley, West Ham, Torino and City, after starting his career with Wrexham in League Two.
