An NYC model’s hurt husband has confirmed she’s leaving him for her twin sister’s husband, but insists he isn’t taking revenge on the “betrayed” sister, saying the whole situation is “very difficult.”
Vittorio Assaf is the 62-year-old founder of the New York restaurant chain Serafina.
On Wednesday evening, he told Page Six that his wife, 50-year-old ex-model, Charlotte Bonstrom, was leaving him and that she wants to marry the French husband of her twin sister – Zadig and Voltaire founder Thierry Gillier.
Gillier is married to Charlotte’s twin sister Cecilia. He and Cecilia work together in the fashion house and live in France with their four children (three from previous relationships).
Vittorio and Charlotte usually live between Manhattan’s Upper East Side and Southhampton, where they also have a house. Their children, Valentina and Vittorio, are in their late teens/early twenties.

Charlotte and Cecilia Bonstrom with Thierry Gillier in 2017. Former model Charlotte has dumped her New York restaurateur wife Vittorio Assaf for the identical twin Cecilia’s Zadig & Voltaire founder husband Gillier, according to a report.
The scandal is one of Manhattan legend, shutting down the affluent worlds of the fashion and hospitality scenes in New York City, Paris, the Hamptons and St Barths, where both couples routinely vacation.
“Charlotte and I are getting a divorce – she wants to remarry. ‘[She] is going to marry Thierry Gillier, her sister’s ex-husband.
“It’s very difficult, but I have nothing to do with Charlotte’s sister,” Assaf told Page Six.
Charlotte declined to comment, telling Page Six, “This is my private life. You can write whatever you want.
“I have two kids in the middle, and I care more about them than the New York Post.”
It’s not clear when exactly Gillier and Charlotte started cheating on their respective partners, though it would have been sometime during the pandemic.
The source told Page Six that Charlotte had “secretly dated other people” because she was “hurt” that Assaf “spent time with models during their marriage.”
Cecilia was then said to have learned of her sister and husband’s double betrayal last March, with the source saying “it broke Celia’s heart.”
She posted cryptic messages on Instagram at the time, lashing out at Gillier and Charlotte for lacking “integrity.”

In one, posted March 13, she shared a meme reading: “You generally look for three things in a person: intelligence, energy, and integrity. And if they don’t have the last one, don’t even bother with the first two.’
She tagged her husband and sister in the post along with the hashtags “#thanks” and “#warrenbuffet.”
Two days later, on March 15, she posted a close-up photo of her own red eyes with the hashtags “#momentoftruth #iknowwhoiam #nolies.”
She shared another post the next day that read, “Adulthood is learning to walk away from people and situations that threaten your peace of mind, self-esteem, values, morals, or self-esteem.”
Cecilia is said to have heard of the affair in March 2020. She posted cryptic messages on Instagram at the time, taking swipes at Gillier and Charlotte for lacking “integrity.”
Neither her sister nor her husband appear in any of her Instagram posts after this date.
Cecilia regularly posts photos from fashion shoots with Zadig & Voltaire and another source tells Page Six that the divorced spouses both still work for the label.
‘I don’t know how that will go. You’d think there were other men around than your twin sister’s husband.’
The source said they don’t think the identical twins will ever reconcile their relationship.
Last February, just a month before the alleged affair came to light, Cecilia and Gillier gave fashion bible Fashion a tour of their home in Paris.
The designer couple, who married in 2016, posed for photos on the stairs of the new five-bedroom, 500-square-foot home, describing how they transformed the place—a stone’s throw from the fashion house’s headquarters. with ‘their shared aesthetics.’
Meanwhile, Charlotte set up a GoFundMe last March to raise money on Assaf’s behalf after Serafina restaurants were closed indefinitely due to the pandemic.
Assaf co-founded Serafina with Fabio Granato with the opening of his first pizza restaurant in New York City. It has now expanded across three continents.
Attempts by DailyMail.com to reach Assaf, Charlotte and Cecilia by phone for comment Wednesday night failed.
Cecilia and Gillier will continue to work together at Zadig & Voltaire. He founded the company and she has been its artistic director since 2006
