Jill Biden wrote on her Twitter account upon her arrival in Cairo, thanking the wife of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi: “Thank you for the warm welcome to Egypt, the mother of the world.”
The US embassy in Cairo stated, in a press statement, that Egypt is the second stop of Dr. Biden’s week-long tour, which includes 4 countries in the region, which began in Jordan.
Her spokeswoman, Vanessa Valdieva, announced that Mrs. Biden intends, through her visit to the Middle East and North Africa, to promote the improvement of conditions for women and youth, especially with regard to education, health and empowerment.
