Jessica Rowe made a mess in the kitchen on Tuesday when she tried to make a simple plate of nachos for her family.
However, the author of the book Diary of a Bad Housewife lived up to her nickname, as she managed to burn the Tex-Mex culinary dish to a crisp.
The former Studio 10 co-host, 54, took to her Instagram Stories with an image of the blackened nachos topped with dried minced meat and nearly evaporated cheese.
‘Why does this happen every time I cook nachos?’ the former journalist lamented while publishing the photo of the completely burned and inedible dish.
While the original image of the disastrous meal no longer appears on her page, Jess has shared some top tips from celebrity cook Justine Schofield.
The fellow author responded to Jess’s call for help and advised the TV presenter not to put nachos under the grill if she wanted to avoid eating black chips.

“Do not put on the grill to melt the cheese, but simply let it melt in the hot oven at 180 degrees,” suggested the culinary expert.
It is not the first time that Jess loses the battle against nachos in the kitchen.
In 2021, the podcaster attempted to once again showcase her version of nachos in an Instagram post, while revealing her unusual way of serving the dish.
While the food itself managed to look perfectly cooked, the former TV star served the food on the metal oven tray it was roasting on.
To complete the appetizing presentation, Jess left large pieces of burnt baking paper stuck to the tray around the nachos.
The bubbly blonde even delivered the plate while wearing an elaborate and eye-catching nacho-themed hat.
She explained in her caption: ‘Today is Monday! Monday is nachos! #craphousewife #nachoshat #burntbakingpaperfromthegriller.’
Previously, Jess showed off her messy kitchen counter, overflowing with ingredients for her disastrous dinner.

Jess shares daughters Giselle, 15, and Allegra, 17, with her husband Peter Overton, whom she married in 2004.
Allegra has made a name for herself as a rising star in the modeling world after making her debut at Australian Fashion Week in May.
But she admitted in June that her TV star mother’s connections are what helped her get her foot in the door of the competitive industry.
The teen told Stellar Magazine that Jess contacted her old modeling agency and managed to get Allegra a place with them.
“I have always dreamed of being a model. I love fashion and designing different clothes from a very young age, including some from my mother’s wardrobe,” she said.
“When I was in Year 9, I was very curious and interested, so Mum contacted her old agency when she was working as a model when she was around my age.”
