And former Tottenham attacker Van der Vaart applauds his compatriot and compares Schouten with Barcelona midfielder De Jong.
‘He is really someone for the future, that is the quality of Frenkie de Jong’, says Van der Vaart.
‘Frenkie de Jong is of course of a different level, but you can see his high potential splashing away from him. It’s great to see him.’
De Jong could also be on the move this summer and has been the subject of high profile interest from Premier League giants Manchester United.
Sportsmail previously revealed that United was trying to acquire its services for around £45 million plus add-ons.
