Jenna Dewan marked her divorce from Channing Tatum with a celebratory Instagram post, shedding light on her current mindset.
The Step Up star apparently indicated that she was relieved to have finally resolved her divorce by sharing a photo of Nicole Kidman, taken after her divorce from Tom Cruise, on her Instagram Story.
The iconic image of Kidman, 57, shows her looking cheerful as she left her lawyer’s office after legally ending her 11-year marriage to the Mission: Impossible actor, 62.
Taken in 2001, the photo has since been used in countless internet memes along with humorous captions.
In a separate post, uploaded to her Instagram grid, Dewan shared a slideshow of recent photos, including photos of her alongside her fiancé Steve Kazee and their baby girl, Rhiannon.
She captioned the photos: “Thank you universe.”
Jenna Dewan marked her divorce from Channing Tatum with a celebratory Instagram post, shedding light on her current mindset.
Dewan’s posts came a day after news broke of her divorce settlement and the end of her and Tatum’s contentious court battle over the Magic Mike franchise.
Talks between the exes stalled for years as the ex-spouses fought over intellectual property and distribution of the money Tatum makes from the hit film franchise.
Although the details of the agreement are not public, the couple signed a binding judgment this week that conclusively resolves the dispute.
That means the test match between the feuding exes that was scheduled for December is now gone.
If Tatum or Dewan have any future custody disagreements, they have agreed to resolve them privately with a judge, according to court records filed with a Los Angeles judge.
They also mutually agreed to waive spousal support.
Dewan and Tatum married after meeting while on the set of the 2006 film Step Up.
They announced their separation in a joint statement on social media in 2018, saying that “there were no secrets or lewd events at the root of our decision.”
“Absolutely nothing has changed as far as we love each other, but love is a beautiful adventure that takes us down different paths for now,” the exes said in the statement.
Her post came the same day it was revealed that she and Tatum finally resolved their divorce and their contentious court battle over the Magic Mike franchise.
While the couple officially became single in November 2019, their divorce proceedings stalled due to Tatum’s lucrative deals with Magic Mike stemming from the 2012 film hit.
The Hartford, Connecticut-born actress maintained that money used during her 10-year marriage financed the Magic Mike franchise, which includes two sequels, an HBO reality show called Finding Magic Mike and a live show in Las Vegas.
Tatum and the film’s director, Steven Soderbergh, co-financed the project. The film drew heavily on Tatum’s previous experiences as a stripper in Florida.
Its $7 million investment became a box office hit, earning $167 million worldwide.
Celebrity attorney Samantha Spector, who represents Dewan, wrote in court papers that Tatum’s legal team “deprived Jenna of a fair and equal share of the community estate, and he is harming her every day as this case continues.”
Spector estimated that the Magic Mike business is “a potential multibillion-dollar asset.”
She also shared a slideshow of photos with her family and her baby girl, Rhiannon Lee Kathryn Kazee, whom she welcomed in June.
“Thank you universe,” he captioned the post.
The actress, 43, included a sweet photo of her fiancé Steve Kazee snuggling next to their little girl in bed.
The mother of three looked happier than ever as she held her youngest son while sitting on the couch.
Tatum’s lawyer, Jacqueline Combs, insisted that the Magic Mike franchise made most of its money after the actor and Dewan had already broken up.
The actor said in court papers that he was always okay with his ex taking a cut of Magic Mike’s profits.
“I have never denied him his share of any community assets or income,” the 44-year-old star wrote. ‘Your claims that I have “colluded with third parties” are completely false.
‘She has had full access to all of our financial records for all activities during our marriage and since the separation. “I continue to provide you with updates on Magic Mike’s financial matters.”
The former Step It Up co-stars share a daughter, Everly, 11, of whom they have 50/50 custody, which they both agreed to in February 2020.
Tatum is engaged to actress and director Zoë Kravitz, 35, and stars in her directorial debut Blink Twice.

Dewan has been engaged to actor Steve Kazee, 48, since 2020. Dewan and Kazee are parents to four-year-old Callum and little girl Rhiannon.
The actress posted ‘Thank you universe’ to her Instagram and a smiling selfie on Wednesday, a day after she and Tatum signed their final divorce agreement.
