Jay Leno and his wife of nearly 44 years, Mavis Nicholson Leno, enjoyed a date night at the Hollywood premiere of the Netflix movie Unfrosted on Tuesday, three weeks after a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge granted guardianship in the midst of his dementia diagnosis.

Leno filed for guardianship of Mavis on Jan. 26 to manage her “advanced dementia” care and establish a living trust to ensure she has future care in the event of his death.
According Peoplereported Dr. Hart Cohen, the San Francisco-born philanthropist “sometimes doesn’t know her husband or his date of birth” and “is very disoriented, reflecting on her parents, who are deceased.”
Mavis’ neurologist added that the New York-born comedian is “a very nice man and treats her like gold” and she considers him “her protector and she trusts him.”
His health battle comes just over a year since Jay suffered a broken collarbone, two broken ribs and two fractured kneecaps after crashing his vintage motorcycle in Las Vegas.
