Travis Kelce and brother Jason support Taylor Swift in making more VMAs history

Travis Kelce and his brother Jason are cheering on Taylor Swift to create even more history at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift leads the nominations at this year’s VMAs with 12; eight for her “Fortnight” music video, two social categories and nominations in the categories of best pop and artist of the year.

And if she wins eight of those awards, the pop megastar will surpass Beyoncé’s all-time record of 30 wins to become the most successful artist in VMA history.

It’s unclear whether Taylor will attend the show at the UBS Arena on Long Island, New York, but if she does, winning would give her a prominent stage to endorse Kamala Harris’ presidential bid once again after endorsing her on Tuesday night.

As she looks to add more honors to her collection tonight, her boyfriend Kelce and older brother Jason are backing Swift to do just that.

In his New Heights PodcastTravis said of the VMAs: ‘Hopefully Taylor can pick up some awards, she’s nominated for about 10 of those things tonight.

“Hopefully she can walk away with some Moonmen (VMA trophies).”

After his brother wished everyone good luck at the ceremony on Long Island, Jason joked, “Unless you’re up against Tay, then I hope you lose.”

Swift is gearing up for the VMAs after enjoying a weekend in New York with Kelce and her good friends Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.

Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, the singer and her man flew to New York and were spotted at Brooklyn’s iconic pizzeria Lucali on Friday.

They attended a wedding together the next day, before heading to the US Open tennis final on Sunday alongside Patrick and Brittany.

However, Taylor and Travis were heavily criticised online after a video of the pair singing The Darkness’ iconic 2000s rock song “I Believe In a Thing Called Love” in the stands went viral.

If she attends the ceremony on Long Island, Swift could use the platform to double down on her support for Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.

Brittany, who recently sparked controversy by liking Donald Trump’s Instagram post, appeared to cringe alongside them as she asked Patrick, “Do you know this song?”

Swift’s endorsement of Democratic candidate Harris on Tuesday comes after her best friend Mahomes showed support for Republican front-runner Trump last month, which many suggested could damage their friendship.

More than 3.2 million people liked Taylor’s Instagram post in just over an hour after she confirmed: ‘I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.

He explained that the Vice President “fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend them.”

Swift added: ‘I think she’s a talented and steady leader and I think we can accomplish so much more in this country if we’re guided by calm and not chaos.

“I was very encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate (Walz), who has championed LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades. I have done my research and made my decision.”
