Jake Paul wore a $100k ear protector to show off his wealth and mock Mike Tyson ahead of their fight on Saturday.

Two days before meeting in the ring for Netflix’s first live boxing event, Paul, Tyson and their undercard cast hosted a press conference at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.

During the press conference, presenter Ariel Helwani pointed out the striking earpiece on Paul’s propeller.

sports reported that the VOBARA cover cost a staggering $100,000. The YouTuber-turned-wrestler wore it on his right ear in a costly reference to Tyson’s infamous bite on Evander Holyfield in their 1997 heavyweight rematch.

“I’m not going to relax a little bit on Friday night,” Paul said, showing the piece to the camera. “So I have my diamond and spike earplugs right there.”

The inspiration for the ear cover came from Tyson’s bite on Holyfield, which sent shockwaves through the sport of boxing when it happened 27 years ago.

After Holyfield won their opening match in 1996 by 11th-round TKO, the pair met again at the MGM Grand the following year. The rematch would be infamously dubbed The Bite Fight after Iron Mike bit Holyfield’s ear, ending the fight with a third-round disqualification.

Tyson, 58, had his last sanctioned professional fight 19 years ago despite competing in an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

On the other hand, Paul, 27, is coming off a series of victories over athletes and fighters after their best moments. The Problem Child has wins over Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Anderson Silva, Nate Robinson, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry beyond the peak of his powers.

Paul has a record of 10-1 with seven knockouts. Meanwhile, the boxing legend on the other side of the ring arrives with a record of 50-6 and 44 knockouts.

As Paul and Tyson prepare to face off, CELSIUS will take center stage during fight week in Texas, helping to keep fans energized while they’re at the venue.

Attendees will be able to interact with the brand at tasting stations, where they will have the opportunity to try some of the latest refreshing flavors. Within the stream, fans can see partner brands on screen, including CELSIUS’ ‘Essential Energy Highlight of the Fight’, which will showcase highlights from the main events.

Paul joined the CELSIUS athlete roster in 2023. As a long-time energy drink fan, he has integrated CELSIUS energy drinks into his daily routine, choosing it as his drink of choice before workouts and training sessions.

“I am delighted to be part of the CELSIUS family,” said Paul. ‘As a fighter and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, my goal is to push the limits and bring the best to the sport. Whether it’s preparing for fight night or organizing groundbreaking events like this, CELSIUS keeps me energized and performing at my best. “It’s a game changer, just like what we’re doing at MVP.”
