John Terry and his wife Toni, both 42, have built up a significant property portfolio.

John Terry has made almost £5million after selling plots for two mansions he had planned to build, MailOnline can reveal.

The former England footballer, 43, bought the property for £4.5million several years ago and knocked it down in preparation to build a six- and five-bedroom house after receiving planning permission.

The Oxshott plot is part of the Crown Estate, one of the most exclusive estates in the country. Terry has been involved in the development of several luxury homes.

Both properties will include a kitchen diner, family room, lounge, dining room, bar, dressing room and private lounge, gallery, games room and terrace, while the six-bedroom property will also include a swimming pool and gym.

Land Registry documents obtained by MailOnline show one plot sold for £2.75 million and another for £2.15 million.

Photos from the site in Oxshott show one of the houses is now completed and the new buyers appear to have moved in, while the other remains a blank canvas.

Both plots had planning permission for new adjoining homes and one of the new buyers built the property to specification based on plans submitted by Terry’s development company, Blueco Estates.

A planning application has been submitted by the new owners of the second plot seeking to change the shape of the roof of a triple garage and change all the dormers on this magnificent Georgian property.

The planning documents state: ‘The proposals provide for a form of development which is in keeping with the established character and appearance of the surrounding area in terms of size, scale, layout, height and design.

‘The new home will be a sustainable development with energy efficiency measures incorporated, such as green energy solutions.’

They previously submitted plans for external alterations, including increasing the size and height of the pillars and columns above the front door and new chimneys.

According to a development company Terry has partnered with on the project, one of the homes is described as an “8,500 square foot new construction” and the other as an “11,500 square foot new construction.”

Terry has a talent for property development and has been involved in three others at the nearby Crown Estate in Oxshott, one of the most exclusive areas to live in Britain.

Firstly, in 2002, he bought a six-bed family home before selling it for £5 million in 2013.

The retired footballer then bought a neighboring nine-bedroom mansion for £1.8million in 2007 and spent a further £4million renovating it, including building a fishing lake in the back garden.

He had planned to move into the new white mansion, but then he received an unexpected offer from the royal family of Oman.

The footballer sold his former home (below) for £16 million in January 2014. He had planned to move into the property with his family, after building it next to his original home in Oxshott (above), which he sold in 2013.

Terry made a £10 million profit selling the luxury home to General Sultan bin Mohammed al-Naamani, a senior minister in the Arab state, who reportedly bought it for his boss, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, in January 2014.

He then acquired golfer Colin Montgomerie’s six-bedroom home for £6.5 million in 2014, which features a two-bedroom staff annex, four reception rooms and six bathrooms.

Terry spent funds to convert Montie’s putting green into a swimming pool and outdoor kitchen.

However, the family home was robbed by four Arsenal fans in February 2017, after the footballer shared a photo on Instagram from a family ski holiday.

Darren Eastaugh, 30, Joshua Sumer, 27, Roy Head, 28, and Oliver Hart, 25, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

The conspiracy involved seven robberies in Surrey and Sussex, with a total loss of £600,000 across them. The four were jailed for a total of 27 years and 11 months at Kingston Crown Court in 2017.

The house was later sold after he slashed half a million pounds from the £5.5 million asking price due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Terry subsequently bought a sprawling seven-bedroom 18th-century property in 2019 for £4.1 million.

He bought the house, located on eight acres of woods, in the summer off-season after retiring from the game.
