Diane Morgan has a very private life off the small screen but she has a very famous best friend.
Before finding fame, the Cunk on Life star, 48, worked as a telemarketer, dental nurse and potato peeler after leaving drama school, having struggled to establish herself as an actress.
Bolton-born star Diane explored the world of comedy and eventually found success on hit shows Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe, Cunk on Earth and Motherland.

famous friendship
Diane is best friends with fellow actress Maxine Peake, with whom she became close when she was a theater student.
During a 2020 interview with The Guardian, Diane shared: ‘We’ve known each other for a scary 25 years.
“We first bonded at drama school when she introduced me and Withnail, which was the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Diane went on to recall that she and Maxine believed they couldn’t get jobs because of their northern accents, so the couple took elocution lessons together.
She said: ‘Maxine got into Rada, then was cast in Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies and got a South Bank Show made about her. They couldn’t arrest me.’
Admitting that she felt a little jealous at the time, she clarified: “Yes, but I couldn’t take her entirely seriously.” I laughed when she played Myra Hindley.

not wanting children
Even though one of her iconic roles was as Liz, a forceful single mother, in the parenting comedy Motherland, Diane opened up about why she didn’t want to have children.
The star previously admitted that she “doesn’t see any advantage” to having children as they are “expensive and annoying.”
Speaking in 2021 to the Mirror, Diane said: “Anna (Maxwell Martin) and I are always trying to find ways to avoid scenes with children.”
“I have never wanted to have children for even a fraction of a second. The pain, the expense, the inconvenience… I don’t see any advantage.
‘So I work in Motherland and I feel vindicated. People say, ‘Yes, but who will take care of you in your old age?’ That? Do you only have children to take care of you?
