Rozalia Russian has revealed how she ruined her Melbourne Cup Carnival experience after contracting a painful viral infection shortly before the big race.
The glamorous influencer, 36, who is married to Melbourne businessman Nick Russian, 45, shared a lengthy Instagram post detailing her health struggles.
She revealed the problem started after a big night out at Don Julio’s Derby Day after-party at her husband’s Bambi bar.
‘It’s amazing what you can do with a couple of hours. “So a couple of hours ago I was at the races in the most beautiful dress, full of glamour, fantastic hair and now look at me,” she said.
Rozalia then showed off a nasty rash around her eye and told how she was dealing with a painful headache, but at first ignored the symptoms and got “excited” about racing.
“I just got home from the doctor because this has been happening to me all week,” he explained.
‘It started on Monday. I woke up with a small rash on my face and a very bad ear and headache.
‘I just thought about the big Derby night. Am I still hungover? Is my skin breaking out from drinking too much?

Despite his pain, he returned to Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday to soak up the atmosphere of the Melbourne Cup, one of the main events on the Australian social calendar.
“I took some Panadol and Zyrtec to ignore the fact that it felt like a knife had been stuck in the side of my face,” she shared.
When her symptoms worsened, Rozalia got a facial, and when that didn’t work, she agreed and sought medical attention.
Rozalia said she was “taken aback” when the doctor told her she had shingles.
‘I was stunned. I was like are you serious? Here I am thinking maybe it’s a flea bite. “No wonder I felt so bad,” he said.
Shingles is a skin rash characterized by pain and blisters that usually appears on one side of the face or body.
After suffering painful symptoms all week at the races, Rozalia (pictured with Nick) said she was “taken aback” when the doctor told her she had shingles.
The virus responsible for shingles can be transmitted to a person who has not had chickenpox or received vaccines when they come into contact, directly or indirectly, with the fluid contained in the blisters of the rash.
Rozalia explained: ‘(The doctor) said that if you didn’t have chickenpox when you were younger, it can lie dormant in your system and then just come out if you’re stressed, if you’re tired, maybe if you go out dancing. on Bambi until three, who knows? We are not here to judge.’
Rozalia said she is at least relieved that the virus is not contagious, as she feared her husband Nick and children Willow, 10, and Kingston, eight, would get sick.
