Influencer reveals the genius 15-minute rule to keep you from skipping workouts

A lifestyle influencer revealed the 15-minute rule that helped her create a consistent morning routine and stop skipping her workouts.

Julia Montgomery, 27, from New York City, is better known as @juliagmonty on TikTok, where she has more than 370,000 followers. She went viral earlier this year after enlisting the help of a nutritionist and trainer to help her transform her body in a month.

In March, she launched her series “100-Day Summer Glow Up,” detailing all the long-term changes she’s made since then to stay “hot and happy.”

Montgomery recently opened up about her ruling for 15 minutes sectionsaying that it is “the only thing that will make you stop skipping workouts”.

She indicated a scheme of Nice Laboratories This shows how having too many options, or being overwhelmed with making a decision, leads to “irrational trade-offs.”

“Many decisions eventually deplete our willpower, to the point where we end up making increasingly bad choices,” explained Ness Labs founder and researcher Anne-Laure Le Cunff in the accompanying article.

“The key to maintaining consistency is making the decision out of your workout routine, and the best way I can illustrate that is with this really simple curve that tells us that willpower is a finite resource,” Montgomery told viewers.

This is backed by science. And the more decisions we make, the worse the quality of those decisions.

With this in mind, Montgomery made a rule for herself that she had to get out of her house and head to her workout “within 15 minutes of waking up.”

“As soon as I started doing it, I completely stopped skipping workouts and got consistent for the first time ever,” she said.

She noted that she set herself up for “success” the night before by laying out her clothes, placing her gym bag near the door, and placing her pre-workout supplements on the counter.

If she’s taking a class, she’ll make sure you book it the night before. If she’s planning to go for a walk, she’ll prepare her playlist. She also prevents herself from snoozing her alarm clock in the morning.

I have everything I need for the gym, and I wake up not thinking about it. She said.

“Don’t give yourself a chance to make a decision in the morning when you’re warm and cozy in bed.”

Montgomery provided an overview of the principles of the ‘100-Day Summer Glow Up’ series in a video Shared March 12th.

Her first rule is to not snooze the alarm anymore, which is “terrible for your brain”.

“I have a really hard time with this, so I have to put my phone across the room and make myself get out of bed to turn it off,” she explained.

Second, she recommends doing cardio or something that gets your heart rate up every morning. Third on her list is not scrolling through social media during the day.

Some of Montgomery’s other tips are to “stick to your schedule as if it were your job” and stop looking at blue lights at 9 p.m.

“I literally lock my phone in a box because I don’t have self-control, but whatever it takes,” she admitted. ”

Montgomery then touched on nutrition, saying that the goal for the next 100 days was to only go to the grocery store with a specific menu and meals in mind.

She encouraged followers to stock up on smaller meals when needed, but choose healthy options like dark chocolate instead of cookies.

“This would be really hard for me, but I can’t order food,” she continued. We’ll save that for when we go out to dinner with our friends. We will enjoy ourselves. Mail guys don’t eat on the couch.

Montgomery also recommends only allowing yourself to drink alcohol twice a week, preferably on weekends with your friends.

For people who work remotely, she suggests getting out of the house at least three work days a week, saying, “I just think it’s better for your brain.” It’s better for you socially.

The final influencer tips are to “stick to your schedule like it’s your job” and stop looking at blue lights at 9pm.

She added that she also dedicates herself to listening to two podcasts a week that help her reach her goals.
