‘Come on! Come on! Get up!” one of the police officers can be heard shouting during the rescue. Shortly after the man is freed from danger, a train horn is heard blowing.

The man was safely rescued with the help of other travelers at the Third Avenue-149th Street station, which is served by the number two and five trains, the NYPD said in a news release.

The statement said the man had suffered a seizure before falling. The two officers stayed with him until paramedics arrived. In the video you can hear the audience applauding.

The two police officers, who were not identified, were assigned to the station and were monitoring the entrance when a member of the public alerted them to what was happening.

From there, one officer jumped over a door while another was helped by a member of the public who opened the emergency door.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition. No one else was injured during the incident.

The two officers are in the 47th District.

“Not only was it inches from the third rail, but there was a train rapidly approaching the station. Officers sprang into action and without hesitation pulled it off the tracks,” the NYPD statement said.

In February, a similar incident occurred in which two officers saved a man who fell onto the tracks and hit his head.

In that case, officers used a member of the public, asking them to signal any approaching trains, telling them to stop when they reached the station in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.
