Devin from the US recently responded to a viral TikTok by asking the question: “What’s the trashiest name you’ve ever heard?”

The young teacher shared that she has seen many “wild” and “exotic” names throughout her career, but one boy’s strange nickname takes the cake.

‘I get it, everyone wants to be different,’ he thought when he found the name: La/a.

“I looked at it for a long time and then I thought, I got it, it’s Leia,” she said, but the teacher was terribly wrong.

He called and asked for Leia’s parents, but the mother on the other end of the line was confused.

‘WHO?’ she kept repeating.

When it finally clicked, the mother blurted out, “That’s the wrong name.”

Devin was confused and politely asked the parents how he should pronounce the child’s name.

The mother finally revealed that her daughter’s name was ‘La-dash-ah’ and that “https://www.dailymail.co.uk/” did not remain silent.

Devin shared that the naming principle was strange to her, because while she had previously taught a child the name ‘La/Money’, her script was silent.

Thousands of TikTok users rolled their eyes at the strange name, with some criticizing the nickname.

“Tell me why I said LaSlasha because that’s a cut, not a script,” one said.

“I said ‘La-AH,'” offered another, while a third thought it was ‘Lala.’

One revealed: “I said Laura because LaORa.”

But not everyone was surprised.

“I knew it was Ladasha because my mother worked in child support,” one said.

“I’m so glad that in Finland all names go through a system that rejects inappropriate names,” added another.

A bail bonds clerk previously revealed the “most ridiculous” names she’s come across in her line of work, and the inspiration behind some of them may surprise you.

Chey, the employee, originally commented that a woman who named her son ‘Cartier Kior’ – after the luxury jewelry brand and designer ‘Dior’ – wasn’t the strangest name he had ever heard.

His career means he comes across several “pocket” names, including “Orangelo” and “Lamongelo.”

Chey revealed that the siblings in question were named after homemade desserts, orange jelly and lemon jelly.

“I work for a bail bond business and we get a lot of weird names,” Chey said in a video. “My coworker has two of the strangest names we’ve ever heard: Orangelo and Lamongelo.”

Many in the comments revealed the strange names they encountered, and some even pointed to their own birth certificate as evidence.

“My name is Sativa,” a woman said dejectedly, referring to a type of marijuana. “Growing up with that wasn’t fun.”

“I work in admissions at a university and I had an applicant named Saturday May because he was born on a Saturday in May,” another woman revealed.

“My mother taught a boy to call Nosmo King because of a no-smoking sign,” one man said of a family that took the fear of lung cancer very seriously.
