In a viral video, which has garnered more than 2.2 million views, Hunter opened up about everything there is to know when it comes to working at a Disney theme park — including the impact it has on her mental and physical health.
“For those who don’t know,” she says, “I was a Disney Princess at Walt Disney World from 2016 until 2021, when I was laid off due to COVID-19.

The first complaint Hunter had about her time in the park was the fact that she was unable to “speak frankly” about her situation there.
She explained that she wasn’t able to tell anyone that it was “personal”.
“It’s a very exciting job,” she explained, “but if someone asked you what you do, I’d say something like, ‘Oh, I do merchandise at Adventureland,’ because they don’t know you’re a character.”

She described the audition process as “shocking” as it is based solely on your appearance.

And Hunter claimed that comparing herself to others didn’t stop after the auditions because the park made the characters participate in body checks every ‘eight months’ to ensure they were still fit enough for the role.

“Your silhouette is your body, and they want to make sure you’re still fit enough or skinny enough,” the former Disney princess claimed.

Hunter added that the fashion affected her physically.

She added, “Our locations are usually inside and have no windows because there are characters inside, so they don’t get any sunlight at all.”
