An illegal immigrant has been charged with aggravated murder in Ohio as the sheriff’s office revealed he had previously been arrested 11 times and deported eight.
Fermin Garcia-Gutierrez, 46, was arrested for shooting and killing another man in Hamilton on Monday.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said Garcia Gutierrez has arrests dating back to 2001 and has allegedly used at least seven different names and three different dates of birth.
He said the 46-year-old man entered the country illegally at least eight times and is a gang member.
“We have an illegal who is here who has been deported eight times in our county and has committed 20 crimes,” Jones said.

“He’s had seven different names and now he’s accused of murder, aggravated murder and who knows who else he killed along the way or killed in Mexico.”
Hamilton police responded to a call around 2:35 p.m. in the 1100 block of South 13th Street, where they found Fernando Reyna Oviedo, 41, with gunshot wounds, reported The Cincinnati Investigator.
Oviedo was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy determined the cause of death was homicide.
‘I can tell you this, that person would be alive today and if you don’t believe that’s affecting them in Butler County, Ohio, we’re all border states; We are all border counties. It’s here and we could go on and on,” Jones said.
Before being charged with the murder, police had arrested García Gutiérrez for carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon while intoxicated and obstruction, he reported. WCPO.
‘It just so happened that we bumped into him and had a meeting with him. Unbeknownst to us, he had committed this murder,” said Hamilton Police Chief Craig Bucheit.
He now faces a charge of aggravated murder that could carry a sentence of 30 years in prison or the death penalty.
Garcia-Guiterrez is being held without bond at the Butler County Jail by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement official.
Jones had used García Gutiérrez at a press conference to express his frustration with the border crisis just days before he was charged with murder.
He said since July 1, 2021, the Butler County Jail has had nearly 1,000 illegal immigrants with a total of 1,757 charges costing them $1.8 million to house.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics show that in this fiscal year alone, 1,151,448 encounters have already been reported at the southwest border.

‘Anyone who has been a victim of a crime should sue that guy (Mayorkas) when he is not working for the president of the United States. You should sue him personally,” Jones said.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics show that in this fiscal year alone, 1,151,448 encounters have already been reported at the southwest border.
The year, which runs from October to September, is already on pace to beat last year’s record of 2,475,669.
Since Biden took office, the total number of encounters at the southwest land border has reached a staggering 7,740,747.
