A clever Brit has revealed how she transformed her bedroom using a B&Q kit that costs just £18, saving her a lot

A renovation expert claims she transformed her bedroom with a B&Q kit that cost almost £19.

Betty, who posts home renovation videos on TikTok under the name @en_home_with_bettyrecommended the profitable product to his followers this week.

The video in which he is recorded using it has already been seen by more than 1.4 million people.

She wrote: ‘Have you tried the £18 B&Q panel kit? Having always used pine slats for panel projects, I couldn’t wait to try this ready-made kit.

‘The first thing to keep in mind is that unless you’re cladding a fairly small wall, you’ll definitely need more than one pack. This wall is 260cm and I needed two packs (but I only used half of the second one).

A clever Brit has revealed how she transformed her bedroom using a B&Q kit that costs just £18, saving her a lot of “time and effort”.

“Still, buying two packs was more cost-effective than buying individual pine slats.”

The TikToker continued: ‘Secondly, MDF is MUCH easier to cut and leaves much cleaner edges. It’s also easier to sand to leave a smoother finish.

‘The shelf was made from pine and is surprisingly sturdy given that it is only held up with No More Nails.

“Overall, if you want to save some time and effort, I would definitely recommend trying this kit.”

In the video, the DIY professional shows for the first time what her bedroom looked like before, with a plain white wall behind her bed.

She opened the £18 kit to reveal that you get six panels in each and bought two to be safe.

Then he cut them to the size he needed and started gluing them to the wall.

Betty added a pine slatted shelf, although it is not included in the B&Q kit.

Finally, he painted the entire section of wall black, creating expensive-looking dark panels behind his back, for a bargain price.

A third advised: ‘The £20 wick comes with the rail for the top. I didn’t realize how easy they were to make.’

‘What paint did you use for the black please?’ asked another, and Betty replied, “Farrow and Ball Off-Black.”

Meanwhile, someone else joked: “We used one of their panel kits in our downstairs bathroom and it looks great.”

“The only problem was that we discovered that some of our walls were not completely straight and flat, which made it difficult to glue them together.”

Another commented: ‘This looks great! I just bought a couple of packs for our bedroom. Could you tell us what size pine wood you used for the shelf on top?

‘I could do this in my bathroom, it looks great’ and ‘I did this too’. “Very easy,” others revealed.

Someone else chimed in and said, ‘Thank you for this! I’ll buy tomorrow now!’

One DIYer asked: “But how does it come off?… I feel like it’s going to destroy the walls.”

Betty explained: ‘We removed it from the wall in another room and used a light putty to remove some of the plaster.

“Other people have used nails to keep the wall from being ruined, but my wall is solid.”
