The married mother revealed in her post that her brother-in-law John, 28, spent 12 years in prison after being convicted of kidnapping and rape.
Since then, she and her husband have refused to allow the convicted felon around their two children, including the woman’s 13-year-old daughter.
“Everyone in the family is extremely angry with me because he ‘served his time and paid his debts…,'” she wrote.
“I refuse to accept excuses and have been adamant about not allowing this man anywhere near my son.”
A woman created a post on Reddit yesterday and wrote that she refuses to let her brother-in-law see his daughter and stepdaughter after he was convicted of kidnapping and rape.
John, 28, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his crimes. He has since been released, but she still does not allow him to see the children.
The daughter of the original poster (OP) is 13 years old and is only two years younger than John’s victim.
John’s victim was a 15-year-old girl he had befriended on Facebook.
According to the woman, the teenage victim told John she needed to “escape an abusive home life” and then claimed her father sexually abused her and denied her food.
“John went and picked her up and left the state with her, where they began a sexual relationship,” the OP wrote.
“Whether or not ‘consent’ was given was never revealed as it was not in the report.”
However, due to the victim’s age, the OP stated that the crime was considered forcible rape.

“16 is the age of consent, so it was not considered legal and only applies if there is a 6 year age difference, not 13.”
After 12 years behind bars, John was released from prison two years ago and has since become a registered sex offender.
John may have served time for his crimes, but it is not enough for the wife and mother to allow him to be around their daughter and stepdaughter.
He befriended the victim on Facebook and the couple began a sexual relationship while crossing state lines. He admitted in a letter that he committed all the crimes.
‘I don’t care if he “reforms” and “finds Jesus.” “I don’t care if he openly admits it was a mistake and apologizes,” she wrote.
“He still raped a boy, who is close to my daughter’s age.”
John’s family contacted her yesterday and asked that they all have a discussion about the matter.
The OP’s in-laws were at the discussion and revealed that John would be at his niece’s 12th birthday party.
“They asked me to put up with this for a few hours for the sake of my nieces and said, ‘We’ll all make sure John isn’t around your daughter, we’ll pay close attention to him,'” she wrote.
“Everyone thinks he’s healed anyway, so I don’t trust them to watch my son because everyone thinks he’s ‘cured’ and ‘he wouldn’t do that to his family.’
Although the OP remained stern about the situation, she found her husband crying in a bathroom later that day.
During a family argument, his in-laws told the OP that John was attending his niece’s 12th birthday party despite his criminal past.
The Reddit poster and her husband are no longer on speaking terms after the two had a nasty fight at their home.
“I knocked on the door and found him sitting on the edge of the bathtub,” she said in her post.
Instead of seeking comfort, her husband became angry and “unleashed a world of pain.”
The OP claimed that her husband told her he was ‘fucking sick of being caught in the middle’ and that he felt like she was making him choose between his family.
“He said that he is angry with all of us and that he is starting to hate us all because we don’t “shut up” and stop “giving him ultimatums…”, he said.
“I know he’s hurt right now, but I will never tolerate a lack of concern for my own son after what that man did.”
Despite the pain her husband felt, the OP stated in her post that she has not forgiven her brother and even thinks her brother is ‘sick in the head.’
Once the OP’s husband raised their daughter, she told him to get out of their house and the two haven’t spoken since.
