Late night hosts have declared that America is “excited” by the shooting suspect, 26-year-old UnitedHealthcare CEO Luigi Mangione.
On Monday, Mangione was arrested while eating at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and charged with the shooting of Brian Thompson last week in Midtown Manhattan.
He has since been charged with second-degree murder in New York, as well as three counts of weapons possession and forgery.
But as the manhunt for the 26-year-old continued, many images emerged of him at the crime scene and before, when some internet users swooned over the alleged criminal and declared him “attractive.”
And, when another mugshot of him was released on Tuesday, some X users took to the platform to call him “sexy” and “stunning.”
On late-night television, the conversation continued, with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel making jokes about Mangione’s attractive appearance.
On Monday night’s show, after the arrest, Colbert made some crunches over his abs.
“This story started out tragic, but quickly became bizarre because when authorities initially released security photos of the suspect, the reaction on the Internet was swift and horny,” Colbert said during his monologue.
“You know the guy’s Italian because you could grate Parmesan on those abs,” Colbert joked about the suspect in the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Luigi Mangione.

Following suit, on his show on Monday, Jimmy Kimmel also had some good jokes about Mangione.
‘And this guy they caught in Pennsylvania… he has social media, and we’ve been able to see him, and happy trial, Batman!’ Colbert continued, as an image of Mangione posing shirtless appeared on the screen.
“You know the guy’s Italian because you can grate Parmesan on those abs,” he joked.
His show staff later captioned his cold open on YouTube: “America is horny for the alleged UHC killer.”
Following his example, in his evening show on mondayJimmy Kimmel also had some good jokes about Mangione.
While he didn’t focus on Mangione’s appearance, he did make some jokes about the alleged killer’s name.
“I think we can all agree that no one could have imagined that this suspect would have a name as funny as Luigi Mangione,” Kimmel admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“With many murderers, or suspected murderers, when you arrest them, you have to use their middle name,” he continued.
“We don’t need Luigi Wayne Mangione, it’s not necessary.”
‘He has social media and we’ve been able to see it, and happy judging, Batman!’ Colbert continued, as an image of Mangione posing shirtless appeared on the screen.
Kimmel also joked that Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s while eating a hash brown.

—Doesn’t everyone look suspicious at a McDonald’s? Kimmel joked.
“Just sitting and eating there is suspicious at McDonald’s,” he added.
When Mangione was hauled into court by a horde of sheriff’s deputies Tuesday afternoon in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he shouted his disapproval of police.
He could be heard roaring about police officers being “completely out of touch” and “insulting the intelligence of the American people.”
Mangione could also be seen baring his teeth as he was pushed into a door.
