The 23-year-old previously swapped his social life by working three different jobs, but he wouldn't change a thing.

A supermarket worker has revealed how he bought eleven properties last year while working at Sainsbury’s.

Ayobami Akeju, 23, originally from Kent, has a portfolio worth £1.2 million with 10 properties in total across the UK.

Despite his investments, he still has a regular 9-5 job at a Sainsbury’s warehouse in south-east London to help fund his property dreams.

“I haven’t given myself anything, I live very frugally and I’m still very disciplined,” Ayobami said.

He added: “When I was 20 years old, I made a three, five and ten year plan, from which I will not deviate.”

And Ayobami’s role at Sainsbury’s is full-time: “I still have my day job at Sainsbury’s, where I work 40 hours a week,” she explained.

Ayobami continued: ‘When I leave, I will miss the management who have not only been flexible with my work schedule but have also been very supportive of the growth of my business.

“I’m here to do whatever it takes of me to win and make future versions of myself proud of the work I’ve done in the past and present.”

‘For me, ages 20 to 25 is the season to work hard, block out all the noise, distractions and temptations.

“There will be a time to enjoy, but that time is not now, especially because I don’t believe in balance.”

However, for Ayobami, not everything has been a bed of roses. The worker suffers from migraines and is often under pressure due to an intense workload.

Still, he continues to work and Ayobami has turned his pennies into pounds by working with private investors.

He said: ‘I have been able to grow quickly by working with private investors who invest in my property deals to earn a return on their money, rather than leaving their funds in the bank which would decline in value due to inflation.

He said: ‘I remember in 2021, while working at Sainsbury’s during the day, I was doing night shifts at Amazon.

‘I worked grueling shifts, sometimes back-to-back, to help him kick-start his plan to start a property investment company.

He continued: ‘And there was a period where I went three days straight without sleeping. This journey has been extremely hard, but I would do it all over again.

“I fondly remember every job I’ve ever worked on, no matter how difficult it was.”

Despite his impressive property portfolio, Ayobami still feels he is not doing enough.

Now, on social media he has revealed how he managed to set up his real estate business. His advice includes making a financial plan, creating a monthly budget, and living below your means.

He said: ‘There is always a nagging voice telling me that I am not doing enough, that there is still more work to do and more to achieve, and that voice is right.

‘I have goals I’m working towards, which I’m very far from, so in my mind I haven’t achieved anything yet. The work never ends, I’m on a mission.

I did all this when I was 23, while I still had a job at Sainsbury’s. I will never retire. “I love the sport of business and I will continue to grow.”
