Hunter Biden allegedly defrauded two Venice landlords out of a total of more than $380,000 in rent, sources close to the landlords say.
DailyMail.com revealed last year that Hunter owed Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman $80,000 in back rent after leaving his Venice rental property vandalized, according to sources briefed on the dispute.
And now Shaun Maguire, a partner at San Francisco investment giant Sequoia, has come forward claiming Hunter also owes him at least $300,000 after failing to pay rent “for over a year” in 2019 and 2020.
“What about the over $300,000 in back rent Hunter Biden owes my family between 2019 and 2020?” Maguire wrote on X on Sunday.
The furious California venture capitalist spoke hours after Joe Biden pardoned Hunter for his gun convictions and tax crimes, as well as any other uncharged crimes committed over the past 10 years, despite the president’s repeated promises to don’t do it.
Hunter was our tenant in Venice, California. “I didn’t pay the rent for over a year,” Maguire added. ‘He tried to pay with an art book made from his own feces.
‘He changed the locks and used the secret service to enforce them. “We didn’t have access to the property.”
Maguire’s Venice home is a four-bedroom, 2,926-square-foot home on Louella Avenue that he purchased in 2017 for $2.5 million and is now worth an estimated $4.25 million.
Hunter Biden has been accused of skipping more than $300,000 in rent while renting a property in Venice, California with his family in 2019 and 2020, DailyMail.com has learned.
The accusations emerged just hours after father Joe Biden announced that he would pardon his troubled son for his convictions for tax crimes and gun possession.
The gated property features a master suite “drenched in natural light and opening to a private balcony with serene treetop views and coastal breezes,” according to a red fin property listing.
The home’s ‘spa-like master bathroom’ is reminiscent of a five-star resort, with marble finishes, dual vanities, a frameless glass double rain shower, a freestanding tub, abundant natural light, additional linen storage and dressing room. closet,” the listing said.
On its third level, the property has a rooftop fire pit and sauna with “stunning panoramic views of the sunset and palm trees.”
DailyMail.com has contacted Hunter for comment.
After leaving the Maguire property with an alleged debt of $300,000, Hunter, his wife Melissa and baby Beau moved to another rental home in Venice rented for $25,000 a month.
But the president’s son was later accused of vandalizing that house and not paying rent.
‘Hunter and Melissa were horrible tenants. Not only did they charge the landlord months of rent, but they left the house in terrible condition,” a source with knowledge of Hunter’s tenancy told DailyMail.com last year.
At the time, the imposing three-story property was owned by Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman.
The source added: ‘They were totally disrespectful to Jonathan and (his wife) Leora’s property.
Shaun Maguire, a partner at San Francisco investment giant Sequoia, came forward Sunday claiming Hunter also owes him at least $300,000 after failing to pay rent on his $4.25 million property in 2019 and 2020.
Maguire spoke out in a series of X posts claiming Hunter didn’t ‘pay rent for over a year’
‘Melissa was rude and overbearing. They destroyed the home stereo and when someone came to fix it, they didn’t cooperate. They also left the place dirty.’
According to a knowledgeable source, the former landlord was only able to move the property after cleaning up the Bidens’ mess and was left out of money when Hunter, 53, reduced his rent by more than three months.
Neman, who founded the modern farm-to-table salad chain alongside Nicolas Jammet and Nathaniel Ru in 2007, declined to comment on the president’s son’s lease when approached by DailyMail.com.
But the source said: ‘Neman decided not to take Hunter to court over the arrears. Not that I needed the money and, frankly, it was embarrassing.
The 3,735-square-foot home located on the edge of the Grand Canal features 25-foot acoustic ceilings and contemporary limestone floors in the main living area.
The modern space opens to a large kitchen island and open concept dining room.
It has only two bedrooms, but both are master suites and one expands into a living room with access to the pool and a marble bathroom.
The other loft-style bedroom has a separate bathtub and shower and opens to a private balcony overlooking Venice’s historic canals.
Hunter, his wife Melissa and baby Beau then moved to another rental home in Venice rented for $25,000 a month (pictured), however he has since also been accused of vandalizing and not paying rent on that home.
Hunter and Melissa only lived in Neman’s house in Venice for about six months before moving to Malibu.
The latest accusations come after Father Joe Biden’s shocking announcement Sunday night that he will grant a presidential pardon to Hunter, calling his prosecution “selective” and “unfair.”
The explosive U-turn decision will see Hunter pardoned for any crimes he committed “from January 1, 2014 to December 1, 2024.”
Not long ago, the White House had denied that the president would take such a drastic step in the final months of his outgoing presidency.
Biden himself said in June that he “would not forgive” his son, unlike Trump, who has openly said he wants to forgive the January 6 rioters.
