How To Get Away With Murder star Karla Souza gives birth to baby number three with husband Marshall J. Trenkmann after ‘marathon’ 33 hour labor

Carla Souza now resting easier after giving birth to her third child after a 33 hour marathon.

On Friday, the actress took to her Instagram page to announce that she and husband Marshall J. Trenkmann recently welcomed a baby girl, whom they named Giulia.

‘After a marathon 33 hour labor that stopped and started more times than a film production during Covid, we are overjoyed to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Giulia!’ she shared along with a series of sweet photos of their daughter taken at the hospital.

“Yes, you read that right—33 hours,” she continued. ‘Plot twist? The doctor and the epidural didn’t make it in time!’

With the addition of Giulia, the couple are now the proud parents of two girls and a boy, which includes daughter Gianna, five, and son Luka, three.

Souza, 38, went on to thank her doctor and doula, who are employed to provide guidance and support to a woman during childbirth, for their support during the grueling ordeal.

‘A huge shoutout to my incredible doctor, Shamsah, who has not only been a guardian angel to my vagina, but has also navigated me through three pregnancies with grace and care. You are my hero!’ The alum on how to get away with murder continued.

‘Massive love to my doula, Talitha, the real MVP who ensured our journey was filled with strength, courage and the most amazing worship playlists. Without you, Talitha, we might still be in labor!’ she confessed.

The gracious gratitude didn’t end there as she went on to thank her husband for all his support, which from the sounds of it was much needed during the long and arduous labor.

‘Last but certainly not least, to my rock, my husband, who stood by my side for the endless 33 hours and provided unwavering support and held my leg up – this time with even more enthusiasm,’ she shared of her partner. “Marshall look what God has given us! ‘Wonderful are your works.’

After leaving the hospital, Souza returned home, where she took a selfie of herself cradling her new baby girl in her arms.

After first meeting in October 2012, Souza and Trenckmann dated for just over a year before deciding to get engaged.

Their engagement lasted six months until they finally got married in May 2014.

Fluent in English, Spanish and French, Souza is a veteran actress who landed her first role as a child star on Aspen Extreme back in 1993.

She would eventually move on to major roles in Spanish-language films From Prada To Nada (2011), Suave Patria (2012) and Nosotros los Nobles (2013).

The Mexico City, Mexico native’s Hollywood resume also includes the ABC crime drama series How To Get Away With Murder (2014-2020), Home Economics (2021-2023), and the films The Jesuit (2018) and The Sleepover (2020).
