Rapper turned entrepreneur, philanthropist and sportscaster Snoop Dogg has lived a life most of us could only dream of.
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is a former convicted felon who used to deal drugs during his time with the Crips gang, and was once accused of murdering a rival gang member, a charge for which he was later acquitted.
Although he has left his former life of crime and adrenaline behind him and is now leading the US coverage of the Olympics alongside comedian Kevin Hart since 2021, it seems he has not forgotten his roots yet.
Resurfaced footage from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics shows Snoop falling in love with dressage despite his reported fear of horses.
He and Hart were seen watching German rider Isabell Werth’s mount take part in the event.
‘The horse is Crip Walking, that’s a gangster like a motherfucker… this horse is out of control,’ Snoop said in the 2021 video, adding, ‘I gotta put this motherfucker in a video!’

Crip Walking is a dance move adopted by several West Coast rappers who were affiliated with the Crips, the notorious Southern California gang founded in the late 1960s.
Crip Walk dancers move their feet in a fast and intricate manner, usually spelling out CRIP with their feet.
The dressage event, apparently the rapper’s first time seeing anything like it, appears to have made a strong impression on him, as he was spotted watching this year’s dressage event with his longtime business partner, Martha Stewart, on Saturday.
Snoop Dogg wore trousers, a dressage tuxedo and a helmet as he toured the grounds of the Château de Versailles.
The rapper and actor was able to enjoy an excellent performance from British rider Becky Moody, who achieved the best score in the first round aboard her horse Jagerbomb.
Late last week, Stewart and Snoop revealed that the rapper had a fear of horses and had apparently overcome it.

The rapper was joined at the event by close friend and businesswoman Marta Stewart.
Stewart, speaking to NBC, said: “Snoop called me and said he knows I know horses and they’re a little scared of me.”
Snoop, also interviewed at the time, said: “I’m still afraid of horses.”
“Have you ever ridden a horse?” Stewart asked.
“No,” Snoop said. “I’m scared.”
She is working for US channel NBC during the Games and has enjoyed a busy season in Paris, carrying the Olympic flame for a short leg of the final relay before appearing in a number of events including gymnastics.
Snoop Dogg, whose full name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., said of his time as a torchbearer: “One thing I’ll be able to live with and be happy with (is) knowing that I was the face and voice of peace at that moment in time.”
Snoop Dogg’s presence certainly created a stir around the place, with Moody’s teammate Carl Hester saying news of his arrival had caused a stir around the stables.
He said: ‘I never got to meet him, but of course the word around the stables was that he was there and everyone was looking for him in the vault.
“It’s fantastic that he’s enjoying dressage and that he was here.”
