A Sydney bakery has caused a stir among customers after selling a meat pie for $20.

Lode Pies and Pastries in Surry Hills has been selling this delicious treat for years and has become known for its unique and filling creations.

This tasty meatloaf takes three days to prepare, has layers of flaky pastry, a “chimney” on top to pour the chicken sauce over the wagyu breast, carrot and sliced ​​shiitake mushrooms.

A debate started on Facebook about whether $20 is “too much” to pay for a humble pie; some think it’s “absurd”, others say it’s so tasty and filling it’s worth every penny.

Customer Chris praised the cake on a popular Facebook group, saying: “I think I found the most expensive cake in New South Wales.”

However, the post was inundated with comments from those who believed it was a “scam” and others who said it was a “work of art.”

“I understand why it’s $20, the way you make all the dough would take a long time,” one commented.

‘This is my place and it is one of the best cakes you will have in your life. The perfection of the fluffy dough and filling is amazing,” said another.

‘Wow! He just looks at that beautiful thing,” one wrote.

Another noted that the price might be worth it if the cake is “filling” as it is a “meal.”

‘It looks good though! Considering you’re paying over $20 for a modern burger and a small side of fries, it’s actually not that bad. It depends on what you feel like!’ one said.

The high-end bakery was opened in November 2021 by LuMi Dining, and foodies are still flocking to it.

The little pink bakery on Crown Street in Surry Hills has taken social media by storm thanks to its Instagrammable range of sweet and savory treats made with layers and layers of puff pastry and a chic, chic interior.

Chefs Federico Zanellato and Lorenzo Librino of the dual-function restaurant LuMi are the brains behind it.
