Katie Holmes, 45, is a fashion icon in her own right, and now, her daughter Suri Noelle, 18, appears to be following in her footsteps as she literally wears her shoes.
Suri (formerly Suri Cruise) doesn’t just seem to be inspired by her mom’s iconic ’90s style, she also raids her closet on the regular.
Not only do the two women look exactly alike, but they also started wearing the same outfits, with Suri apparently taking a lot of inspiration from Katie’s red carpet looks, as well as her time as tomboy Joey Potter in Dawson’s Creek.
In June, Katie, who shares Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise, 61, admitted to The Times that the “basics” in her wardrobe are “definitely disappearing” thanks to her stylish Gen Z daughter.
Katie said that while the Carnegie Mellon University freshman steals some of her basics, the teen still “has her own sense of style.”
Katie Holmes, 45, famously played tomboy Joey Potter on The WB’s hit teen drama, which ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2003.

Not only do the two women look alike, but they’ve also started wearing the same outfits, and Suri seems to be taking inspiration from Katie’s red carpet looks as well as her street style.
The Dawson’s Creek alum has also been saving up clothes to pass down to her daughter, and while we haven’t seen Suri wearing them yet, she’s certainly channeled her mom in plenty of ’90s-inspired outfits while walking around New York City.
The Teaching Mrs. Tingle actress and her daughter have been spotted wearing the same retro blue and orange outfit. Pony slippersSuri also often opts for 90s-inspired footwear like Converse, biker boots, and slouchy cowboy boots.
On social media, fans are obsessed with their shared love of fashion and can’t help but make comparisons.
Suri went viral when she was spotted attending prom in a Y2K-inspired two-piece outfit that looked like it was pulled straight from her mom’s closet.
In a Reddit In a thread dedicated to her dress, one fan wrote: “It definitely has a vintage, early 2000s vibe to it. I was wondering if it was a dress her mom wore and half-expected to scroll right to a photo of Katie wearing the dress in 2006.”
Another agreed: “It’s from the early 2000s and looks like something her mom would have worn on a red carpet back then.”
But the Manhattan teenager didn’t steal her mother’s clothes for the big dance, as Brooklyn-based vintage store Malin Landaeus announced that she found the set at her Williamsburg store.
Still, the dress looked eerily similar to one Katie wore to prom on the set of Dawson’s Creek, the popular WB show that aired from 1998 to 2003.
Asked by The Times if Katie hoped to pass her wardrobe on to Suri, she replied: “Um, sure. I mean, I’ve kept a few things here and there. But she has her own sense of style.”
Suri, 18, gave Dawson’s Creek fans a sense of déjà vu when she attended her high school prom in New York wearing a Y2K dress (left) similar to the one her mom wore to prom as Joey (right).
Suri (right) imitated her mother’s dress at the 1998 Emmy Awards (left) in a white dress with lace details paired with classic Converse sneakers.
But that’s not the only inspiration for Suri’s street style, who is also a fan of strapless tops, baggy, low-rise jeans and burgundy lipstick from the ’90s.
Suri, 18, has been closer than ever to her mother in the days leading up to her departure for college, and is famously estranged from her Scientologist father.
The Mission: Impossible star and his ex-wife have not been in a relationship since she cut ties with Scientology and they divorced in 2012.
During her graduation from LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts in June, she appeared as Suri Noelle instead of Suri Cruise, showing that she is using her mother’s middle name instead of her father’s last name.
Her father did not attend the graduation and she paid tribute to her mother with a sweet outfit.
Suri wore a white lace dress reminiscent of the dress her mother wore when she attended the Emmys in 1998.
