All-inclusive holidays have long been a favorite of Brits looking for peace of mind and to avoid overspending when abroad.

Package holidays, which include flights, accommodation, food and drink, have been especially popular with those with young families.

Now, a new generation of travelers is seeing the benefit as Generation Z opts for all-inclusive travel as a more cost-effective way to travel.

New research from Expedia shows that 38 per cent of Brits say they are attracted to an all-inclusive hotel, a figure that rises to half of Generation Z – those born between the mid-to-late 1990s and early 1990s. the 2010s.

Young travelers have rejected the idea that all-inclusive hotels can be boring, helped in part by social media influencers, but also by their price and ease of booking.

Nearly two-thirds of young travelers say they are considering an all-inclusive stay in 2025, while 43 percent say it would be their preferred type of hotel.

TikTok has also inspired young travelers to vacation in new places in search of specialty products, including viral chocolate bars in Dubai, butter from France and skin care products from Korea.

Expedia’s survey of 25,000 travelers found that 60 per cent of Brits now prioritize visiting a supermarket to buy local treats during their holiday, with sweets topping the list.

Britons continue to prioritize holidays over other luxuries, even though they can come at a high price.

ABTA data shows that 84 per cent of people went on holiday last year, but the number of holidays taken per person has increased.

Young people are at the forefront: Generation Z makes an average of 5.33 trips per year, while people between 25 and 34 years old make 6.43.

Mark Tanzer, chief executive of ABTA, said: ‘In recent years, there has been a change: many people do not have a summer holiday but nothing else during the year; Instead, many people now choose to spend their extra money on several trips throughout the year.’

Price remains an important factor for travelers, which may be driving the rise of what Expedia calls “diversion destinations.”

Half of Brits say they are likely to visit a lesser-known, less-crowded destination next time they travel.

Trending travel destinations for 2025 include Reims in France as a detour from Paris, Brescia near Milan, and Cozumel as an alternative to Cancun, Mexico.

Expedia also predicts that Santa Barbara, California, will become a popular choice for travelers who want to avoid paying over the odds to stay in Los Angeles.

Similarly, Fukuoka in Japan could be a good alternative for travelers wishing to visit Japan.

Despite these cheaper alternatives, it seems some travelers are still interested in having the most luxurious vacation possible and turning to the screen for inspiration.

The ‘set-jetting’ trend continues to grow, with two-thirds of travelers using movies and TV shows to influence their travel choices. It marks a 16 percent increase from 2023.
